I really like Google sheets. It is easy to use. It takes a little bit of playing with to know all of its features, but is extremely handy. I especially love how it is usable between Apple, and Windows. Also I love the instant updating ability. I highly recommend it.
  • Uggh, generally okay, but…

    By nickname taken trying again
Half the time when I tap a cell to copy its formula and paste to a different cell, the original cell will go into edit mode and mess up the formula when I tap any other cell. And this app has no equivalent of an escape key. So I need to undo and try again. Extremely annoying…

If there is not a full or very strong wi fi signal it is very slow or just doesn’t load what you’re trying to do.
  • Not for professionals

I normally dont do this but I have been patiently waiting for this app to be useable for years. For any type of light work that can be done by a teen after a week or two of learning spread sheets for the first time this app is great. Anything that requires slightly more functionality (and boy is this list long) for people who work with sheets professionally is not available nor is the option to enable such functionality even offered. Dont take my word for it, there are thousands of youtube videos with professionals who unanimously hate this app. Just look up “Google Sheets Tips for iOS” on youtube and literally click any of the top 1000 videos! Not even joking!

I’m writing this review for an IPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard used for work with a work account. For context, I also have a work account of all MS Apps in addition to all Google work apps so I am able to contrast the two suites on the same device. Pros: Sheets for IPad opens files very quickly. Allows basic review and editing. Cons: - Can’t edit multi line cell text easily. Can’t edit text in the middle of the cell easily. Only a small one line high box shows allowing you to edit text that is only one line high. We can’t just double click in the cell and click on where we want the cursor. Can’t do carriage returns within the cell. - Can’t open multiple files at once - Does not render properly when on an external monitor with Stage Manager - No paste transpose option - No paste values option - Can’t see edit history by user - Can’t choose to open in browser instead of app.
