  • Steps don’t sync with iPhone Health app

The fit app used to be off by ten percent of the Health app step count. Today it cut out over SIXTY percent while curiously retaining Heart Points. This has been an issue that Google has been been unwilling to deal with. Beware, new users.
  • Not reading accurately

I’ve had this app for about a month now. It worked for a couple weeks right in sync with my regular iPhone health app, but it no longer reads accurately. My iPhone health app reads the right mileage and steps and the google fit app reads 1/2 a mile less and 2-3000 steps less every time. Today I even watched it go up to the right number of steps then it went backwards 3000 steps! It’s becoming very frustrating and I’m ready to delete it from my phone!
  • Step counter

I’m not sure if it’s because I switched to IPhone or if the feature was removed, but when I had an android, Google Fit would count my steps and also had a feature you could turn on for “fast pace” and it would make a ticking sound to help keep you going at the same pace. Ever since I switched it doesn’t do either anymore. I haven’t found a step/mile counter that I’ve liked since and really miss those features.
  • Importing data from Apple Health is incomplete

Sleep time data won’t import to Fit from Apple Health unless you manually logged the time (sleep schedule logs it automatically and it’s the useful data). Steps data, on the other hand, is different from Apple Health. I don’t want to lose all the data registered in Apple Health so, until we can import all the data reliably from Apple Health, I cannot migrate to this app.

Make it assessable for watch use so can’t track data that way
  • Option missing

I use to be able to track my bike rides but I got a new phone and the option disappeared. So I guess it’s time for a new app.
  • Terrible update

The recent update of the sleep stages, etc. is terrible. No contrast in color format and difficult to read. Benchmarking almost non existent.
  • Doesn't give points for move minutes

Shows my cycling 33 miles in a little over 2 hours. Only gives credit for steps. Manual entry of cycling then gives double the miles. Removed from phone

Occasionally, Google’s own apps are better on iOS than on Android, but this is not one such case. Today, according to this app, I acquired 14 heart points on a 1.5-mile, 22-minute walk…which I somehow accomplished in 4 steps. This was synced from my Pixel Watch, which says I got 13 heart points for that 2104-step walk. This and numerous other bugs have been plaguing Google Fit FOR OVER A DECADE, and Google doesn’t seem to care to fix them. (It would take many, many paragraphs to detail all of the issues, and the best that Google’s customer disservice can manage is to recommend inane “troubleshooting” steps like clearing app cache, as though getting a new phone entirely doesn’t rule out client-side issues.) Perhaps the Google Fit cloud service is to blame, but regardless, I’m happy to penalize the app with an appropriate rating. This is just disgraceful.
