How To Download Google TV: Watch Movies & TV On Chromebook

If you're looking to Download Google TV on your Chromebook laptop Then read the following guideline.

The Google TV app, previously Play Movies & TV, makes it easy to find and enjoy the entertainment you love from across your apps, all in one place. With Google TV, you'll be able to: Find what to watch next Browse movies and TV episodes from across your streaming apps, all in one place and organized into topics and genres. Discover new things with recommendations based on what you love and what’s trending across the services you already have access to. Search for titles to see which apps are streaming them. Create a list for all your discoveries Add interesting shows and movies to your Watchlist to keep track of your new discoveries and view them later. The Watchlist is shared across your devices, so you can even add to your Watchlist from your TV or phone and laptop through Search on any browser. Take your favorites on-the-go Your recommendations, Library and Watchlist go with you wherever you go, whether it is out the front door or just to the other room. Start streaming right on your mobile device, or download your previously purchased entertainment from your Library to watch when you're not connected. Use your phone as your Google TV / Android TV remote With a remote built right into the app, you can find something great to watch even when the couch has eaten your remote. And you can use your phone’s keyboard to quickly type complicated passwords, movie names or search terms on your Google TV or other Android TV OS device Learn more about Google TV: https://tv.google

If your going to force me to use this instead of my old app then fix it! I can’t watch anything I purchased anymore because I open it and it freezes!! I’ll update again if fixed!
  • Missing purchases😤😡

I purchased all 5 seasons of “Martin” (Martin Lawrence) and my purchases are not in my library via the google TV but they are in my Library when I log in through the website (I press play/watch and the website takes me back to the app, and there are no apps there)…Why? I paid for them, why can’t I watch what I paid for?
  • ABSOLUTE GARBAGE APP.

They basically steal thousands of dollars of your purchased movies and attempt to get you to purchase them again on this incredibly “buggy” app. that’s impossible to navigate and crashes constantly. Go anywhere else to any other app. but here to this one. How do I restore the hundreds of movies I purchased from you? Such total garbage! How do I get my money back if you’re not able to restore them? Basically stealing from your customers and hoping that we don’t notice.

So you allow movies and tv shows to be purchased using YouTube but not the Google TV app. Like I can understand if this is a restriction but like I said the option to purchase TV shows and movies exist already in YouTube why not bring it to this app as well to make it much easier Another thing when I go to watch a TV show or movie make it so there is a pop up asking me if I would like to watch it on my TV instead of forcefully opening the streaming app it is playing on it it’s installed on my phone. And bring reviews of TV shows and movies into the app I know there available because I have seen that on the Google TV app for my galaxy tab This app needs improvement tell them I will continue to use my Apple TV
  • Major downgrade

Prior to morphing to Google TV, I could stream my purchased movies on my phone or cast to my tv if I wanted. I’m not always at home and like being able to watch what I’ve purchased on my phone. Now, you can’t stream your purchases on your phone and can only cast them to the TV with the novelty being that my phone will act as my remote. Why need a remote when my TV already has one? Why limit the ability to view my purchased media to my TV. These downgrades ensure that I will never purchase another movie or TV episode through a Google product (even YouTube) ever again.
  • Started out skeptical but surpassed my expectations

I was initially skeptical of this change, but after opening up the new app and playing around with it I was pleasantly surprised to see that the transition to Google TV meant that as an iPhone user I could finally search and make a wishlist for content that was on the Play store (mind blowing!). They even included a neat surprise of searching across the other platforms you subscribe to elsewhere (Hulu, HBO max, etc.). I see that they’re trying to create a helpful hub and I’m excited to see them continue to improve it!

I just want to download the movies I’ve paid for for off-line viewing. I have been unable to do so for weeks.
  • Casting doesn’t work

I’m not able to cast movies I rent from Google Play. Screen just sits at the Google TV logo. This happens on TVs at multiple locations with different chromecasts.

I used this app a lot on my old Android Phone and the app experience on there compared to here is night and day. Either Google doesn’t want to put effort into updating the app on their competitors OS or Apple isn’t letting them for the same reason. I bought an entire movie series on this app and when I go to watch one of them, the wrong movie plays and one of them I cannot play at all. Also, downloads do not work at all and so now I am forced to go on my old phone just to watch these movies. Google or Apple, fix it.
