I can't believe that OneDrive can't handle the naming of files with characters: \/:*?" <>| Unlike Google Drive that doesn't have that kind of outadted limitations
  • Works reliably, but may drive you crazy

As with many other MS end user products, it's seriously unintuitive, awkward, and and overly complex -- except for the missing features. (Oh, you want to see the amount of disk space needed for a folder before you download it -- and you're on a student/business plan? Too bad for you! Unbelieveable....) Once you get everything adjusted (have an adult beverage ready to calm down after that process), it works reliably and seems pretty efficient. Using it on both WIndows (10 and 11) and on iPhone and Mac.
  • Much better on Windows than Mac

OneDrive is great, but the software for Mac is not a full featured, or as smooth/fast as it is on Windows. While Microsoft and Apple act like they can play well together in the same sandbox, Microsoft products (OneDrive and Office apps) work best on Windows computers.
  • A lot to improve

It is quite surprising the slowlyness of the desktop app to properly syncronize folders. The app continuously gets hanged and while you think your files are automatically syncronized, they are not. As a comparison, the Dropbox or Google Drive apps are waaayy more efficient and fast to these changes. I guess at the end it is just another Microsoft product :(
  • Unreliable at best

The performance of Onedrive for Mac is abismal. Have tried reinstalling fresh, reusing old installations, troubleshooting, and nothing has worked. Twice I've had the blinking on and off like it's cycling. Tried direct downloads and the Mac app store. I'm paying for office so don't want to pay for better working platforms.
  • Does not work well with Apple

I has seen other reviews and I would like to think that Microsoft would get this fixed. I am about to cancel my subscription and move this to something apple.

Everything is clunky, unintuitive, can't log-in with keychain but need an email code every time, can't decide if it's an app or just a redirect to a super frustrating website, and on top of it, constantly pop-ups windows to interrupt you, asking you to buy more storage. This App was good for one thing... helping me pull the trigger on buying iCloud
  • Seriously an update every 2 days?

The app works well and everything on my Intel based Mac, but a new update comes out every other day? I cannot understand why does it need so frequent updates.
  • More and more broken with each "improvement"

Latest updates result in tremendous CPU usage on my MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.7.5. My computer is horrendously slow. Developers have zero desire to develop a fast, useful app. The default should be to keep files on the computer with an option to keep files in the cloud only the way SkyDrive and early versions of OneDrive used to work. Just an absolutely awful experience in the last month
  • Terrible Experience on Mac

I use this at work and it is horrible for mac. I constantly, as in twice or more, have to restart the app. It will take several minutes to log in. If you need a file quickly, good luck. It's been years and no decent updates to how the app works. 10/10 do not recommend.
