  • Typical Pay To Play

This game sets the bar for the pay to play game model. Without dropping some serious money, it would takes years to advance to any serious level. Most additional resources are $99 each. I certainly believe of fair compensation for someone’s work, but these prices take it to ridiculous levels and shows a complete disregard for their customers. The game IS good, but it is not near worth the amount of money you need to be competitive. Additionally the game allows stronger groups to bully individual players and less powerful groups, dictating how everyone must play, they punish anyone who does not follow their arbitrary game rules.
  • Allows too many toxic players

The gameplay is fun, and yes the whole thing is a heck of a money grab, but I don’t mind too much cause I love Star Trek, but the game should be rated for 18+ because there are just enough toxic players that will either trash galaxy chat or trash your DMs. There is an ability to report players for their behaviour in game, but it does nothing, scopely takes no action, nor do they give feedback. My assumption is they care less about toxic players as long as the money keeps rolling in… but the reasons are irrelevant. Stay away from the game if you aren’t prepared for at least attempted bullying, regardless of power level. Some people create multiple low level accounts just to keep the hate flowing.

Overall well designed and engaging game that emerges you in the Star Trek universe. That being said, the whole game is designed for you to spend money every step of the way. You won’t get anywhere if you don’t buy the resources you need. The missions become repetitive and all the loot you get and need is by “chance” of opening crates. The game seems designed to throttle your progress without making purchases. You’ll spend the next month scavenging for the resources you need and never have enough of. In reply to the developer response, the 10 min, 4 hr and 24 hr free gift loot needs to be increased and include ship parts. The PvE loot also needs to increase the loot given. The loot should be scaled to the player’s level since we need more resources or different types of resources at higher level. Additionally, you should be able to convert parsteel, etc to ship parts. I need well over 1000 battleship parts to tier up a ship. I’d have to destroy roughly 2,000 enemies to get that many. That’s insane when you have about 6 ships to upgrade. I QUIT I have been playing Star Trek Fleet Command for a while now, and I must say, I am extremely disappointed with the game's leveling system. It feels like it is almost impossible to level up without spending a significant amount of money. As a casual player, I expect to be able to enjoy the game without having to invest an excessive amount of money. However, this game seems to be geared towards those who are willing to spend a lot of money on in-app purchases. I find it frustrating that the game's leveling system is so slow that it becomes nearly impossible to progress without spending money. It makes the game feel more like a chore than an enjoyable experience. It is especially frustrating because I am a huge Star Trek fan, and I was excited to dive into this game. However, the leveling system has ruined the game for me. Overall, I do not recommend Star Trek Fleet Command to anyone who is looking for a fun, casual gaming experience. If you are looking for a game that is enjoyable without having to spend a lot of money, then this is definitely not the game for you.

  • Fun game but heavily monetized

This is a fun game but it’s heavily monetized and I think the fact it’s so heavily monetized it is long term not sustainable. Charging extremely high prices for store purchases these prices are the highest I’ve seen in any game and I’ve seen people quit the game saying there’s no point in playing unless you have deep pockets. Also, the iOS app has lots of bugs. Finally, Scopely should survey players, listen to players and balance the game more and reduce the monetization to a more fair and reasonable degree.

In response to scopely stripped out of the binder response and ships and characters blah blah blah… im a lvl 39 with a Tier 7 enterprise (powered 7mil) gets hit by a lvl 60 player running a ship that’s 400mil power, there is nothing I can do from being bullied and this is normal game play everyday. There have been tons of complaints but scopley refuses to fix this or any other glitches. They just want ppl to spend money and trust me there are alot that do. I play cause of the friends I’ve made over the last few years. Even the sexual harassment complaints that I’ve had to make nothing was ever resolved. That player is still playing and still does it. I’ve got screenshots of his comments and posted it in our discord for records. I even sent them to scopely but that player is a huge spender so I doubt they wanna lose that income

The game in general used to be easier for those who don’t want to spend a lot of money. They keep adding stuff for you to do in game it’s hard to keep up unless you’re playing 24-7. The social interaction is incredible though, really enjoy talking to folks around the world but as far as the game goes, it’s only fun if your wallet is fat.
