Brand new account and problems right away. Tried the 24 hour help and it's no more than automated FAQ. There is no 24 hour live support. There are just a TON of unhappy longtime customers writing reviews here. I'm kinda surprised that Apple considers this app "Editors Choice". Other App Store password mgt. apps must be awful if this is editors choice.

I’ve been an extremely happy 1Password user for years (pro subscriber, at that!!). It’s user friendliness is without peer, it makes it super easy to recover when my hard drive has crashed (several times). That said, I’m not willing to pay for a subscription, regardless of the value proposition. I don’t care how many cents per day, or week, or month it is. Everybody wants a subscription these days, and when everyone does it, the model is not feasible for me as a consumer. I’ll gladly go back to being a pro subscriber when I’m offered a 1 time purchase option for full functionality. I’ll even pay every single version. Until then, the account that's free is the account for me. UPDATE: The switch to v8 has added more frustration. It's an Electron app, which is a "write once use cross platform" framework. While the UI is generally more logical than it was in v7, it feels odd in a way that's hard to quantify (same on Windows). Call me a purist, but I just don't like using v8. I really don't care if v8 is on the App Store or not, but a native UI REALLY needs to come back.
  • What's going on with this app?

I've been using 1Password since about when it launched. It has been my goto password manager. But I don't know what's happening with it now - is it not being updated? It works fairly well on my iPAD and iPhone...but the OSX app seems to just....not work. When I mouse over a password field, the app appears like it should; but when I click on it to fill in a password notthing happens-no option to touch unlock or even enter the app password so I can access my logins. Seems like there are multiple versions of the Safari extension also-which one is the righr one - the one the app tries to install, the one that is an extension??? I'm not a computer novice, I used to work as third tier support in IT. I'm done trying to troubleshoot this.

Great concept. Used for years. Used to be the best. Despite the fact that I've paid for the full desktop version, the developer deciced they want to move to a subscription model so they've sabotaged the fully paid for version with never-ending pop-ups. This is not going to compell me to pay for a subscription since I already paid for the full version. It just makes me hate the company I used to admire and now I'm going to unistall and move on and recommmend against this app to everyone I know. Great work!

I used 1Password for years, my passwords were saved on Dropbox and now I noticed that it will no longer be supported, that I have to move to paid subscription to continue to receive important updates. Years of passwords now transferred to another app. BTW, I paid for the app premium features.
  • long term user sliding away

Been a user since 1P4. It was the first app I installed on a new device. The app itself has gotten bloated and confusing, browser extension (that never seems to work in time) vs mini vs stand alone, add Electron, etc etc. -- & it no longer works quickly and smoothly. Now add in subscription model, no v8 in the App Store, and Keychain's increasing capabilities, -- and this may be nearing the end for me.
  • Very high CPU usage

I was a happy 1Password user for the past few years. Sadly the recent versions of the app slow down my new macbook pro to a crawl by spinning up a bunch of 1PasswordSLSNativeMessegeHost processes. The problem is intermittent but very annoying. I (and other people according to reddit) have been having this problem for months. I hope that the devs are planning to address the issue soon.

I loved 1Password in Safari and Chrome on the Mac. But lately it is hard to use, where it tells me to click the icon on the browser bar to unlock. Then it forces me to type the password. No longer works with touchID. In Safari, I now have two icons in the bar - confusion over the browser extension. It just is not working. A great product is now a hinderance. I was hoping this would be fixed but over the past several months has gone from bad to worse.

I've been a (paying) user for years, but I'm now actively looking for an alternative. The software is intrusive and difficult to navigate. Furthermore, I've encountered multiple issues with syncing passwords across devices.
  • It's just not worth it any more trying to get it to work

They keep updating the app and it breaks Chrome integration and I keep expirementing on how to get it to work again. Pretty much the only thing that is guaranteed to work is to reboot my computer. STOP UPDATING IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO UPDATE THE APP SEAMLESSLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I am thankful that I kept updating my password data base in password safe so that I can just stop using this stupid app. It's nice when it works after I reboot but that feels like only 2/3rds of the time and then completely breaks when the app is updated. Chrome keeps refusing to acknowledge that the extension has been installed. I can't count the number of times I have entered my password only to get the same error over and over and over again. At some point I realize it's my problem that I keep trying to use this app.
