  • Forcing paid subscription in update

I’ve been a loyal Evernote user for YEARS and I have hundreds of notes and writing excerpts on the app. Without warning I can only create 50 notes without them forcing me to upgrade to the paid subscription for $79-$129 per year. The thing is if they hadn’t gotten so greedy I would have paid maybe $1-$3 per month and chalked it up to inflation like everything else. I plan to move everything worth saving back over to the Apple notes app or google within the week and never use this silly thing again. Annoying.
  • No longer free

Evernote made it so we can no longer add notes unless upgrading. I have loved this app for years. It’s unfortunate to leave.

I’m not sure who decided this was a good idea, but the free version of Evernote now only gets you 1 notebook and 50 notes, which is a far cry from what I need. (And what most people who take notes need. I mean, 1 notebook? Really?) And I’m sorry, but I’m not paying $130/year for the unlimited plan. Or any amount for any other plan when there are so many other options available for free. It’s a note-taking app, for crying out loud. Granted, it’s got some nice features and is easy to use (hence the 2 stars), but that could just be because I’ve been using it for so many years. Fortunately I adapt to change fairly well, and I’ll survive the move to a different note-taking app. It was nice knowing you, Evernote!

I don't sign up for any app that doesn't have an explicit need for my contact info. Too pricy for a diary if you ask me. So, no. So very no. Update: charging even more for an app no one needs? You say “Evernote,” I say Nevernote. It’s not remotely Clevernote.

So now it’s no longer free? Every time I click on no thanks for premium it just goes back to asking to purchase the premium package.
  • New paid subscription only?

“ they would now be limited to only 1 notebook and 50 notes” What does this mean? Will I lose all my years of notes if I don't pay a subscription?

Evernote is now forcing a paid subscription or you can’t even use it. Deleting immediately.

Everything goes up including the price of apps. It’s a lot of work to create apps. I just wish I would have gotten a WARNING that Evernote was going up. I don’t even know if my new plan is the plan that I should have. I don’t have a lot of data in my app so I don’t understand why my new subscription price is that high. Some transparency would be helpful. How can I understand the difference between all the subscriptions? Which one is appropriate for my particular needs? Can anyone answer these questions? An inquiring mind would like to know.
