  • Frequent Direct Access Data Outages

I have been a customer of IGG Software for 11 years now. Unfortunately I have also endured several Direct Access (data downloads from financial institutions) outages over that time, but the most recent one has been the longest at 27 days now. This particular financial institution holds five of my accounts and is essentially the ONLY reason that I use Banktivity. Looking on their outage page shows many other bank communication failures effecting “75% to !00%” of customers. Users are restricted to live chats or email for support. The chats take an average of 22 minutes to be connected to a human and two business days for email. Both are generally inefficient, most often resulting in redundant questions/suggestions and inevitably a report passed onto another department. Updates are rarely provided without asking. Apologies are the precursor to every single interaction that I have ever had with this company. Sadly, Intuit Quicken is worse on many other levels (I use both between personal and business), so why am I even posting this review? Knowledge is power and there are other software alternatives out there that you might look at first. Nonetheless, Intuit is native for Mac and has a host of features when they work right. Good luck!
  • Direct access is a pain

It supposed to be good 6 months ago, but unfortunately I have so many issue with Direct Access in last 3-4 weeks! Customer service is responsive in getting back to me, but there is no solid solution to solve the issue! I am considering canceling my service.

I've used Banktivity for years. The recent additions have greatly improved it's usefulness. We track everything and has given us a lot of security in understanding how we are spending our money and allowed us to make changes. Some of our financial institutions don't always play nicely in their sandbox with account information but we've found ways to work around it and their service is always improving making it easier.
  • Continual Improvement… Essential to Me

In my daily life, I use Banktivity more than any other software. It's become an essential part of my existence, keeping me always up to date on how much I'm spending and how my savings and investments are doing. I've been a customer for more than 10 years, and it's been amazing to watch this software continually improve. Their direct downloads of transactions, and cloud syncing, are awesome, because I'm one who can remember the early days of having to manually enter every transaction. Now all my financial information seamlessly feeds into Banktivity's dashboard on my computer, and syncs between three devices.
  • Customer support worthless

I’ve been unable to connect with a bank supposedly supported by the software. I contacted customer support, and they assured me they would get it fixed. It’s been almost six months, and they have not resolved the issue! When I follow up and ask them how it’s going, they assure me they are still working on it. Without the ability to connect to my bank - I’m left in a lurch. I either have to change banks, or give up on Banktivity. So disappointed…

Love the program, works very well. Any chance you will bring the calendar view to the iPad???? Seems like there is plenty of real estate to display it. That's my only wish! I love it on MacOS
  • V8 upgrade is ok

[Updated to 4 stars and fixed typos. Also: thank you, developers, for your response.] I love both the Mac and the iPhone versions, but the v8 upgrade for iPhone now forces me to scroll past lots of extraneous data just to see my transactions: Summary, Additional Info, Upcoming, Account Balance, Report and Statements — ALL BEFORE I can *finally* see my transactions!!! PLEASE fix this insanity! (I cannot find a setting, if one exists, to change the order.) Also, I didn’t see any prompts for the v7-to-v8 upgrade; only when I was told my bank download subscription is about to expire and I can’t renew it did I start to look into the “why”. Just a one time thing, but could have been smoother… Thanks for an otherwise great product!
  • I would switch if I had an option

Security prices still not updating in a timely manner. Direct access to Regions Bank is down but no notification on the support site. Chat hold of 20 minutes to be told that "yes Regions direct access is not working and we don't know when it will be fixed." Understandable when I paid one time fee every 2 to 3 years but not with the subscription model
  • Trapped Customer

I like the software alright, but I only bought it because my Mac didn't support the old MSDOS-based software that I happily used for decades and that needed no upgrades. Banktivity has a lot of automated features that I don't want or need, but I have to pay for them anyway. Yet it still isn't as well-suited to my needs as that 30-year-old program I used on my Windows laptop. What I particularyly hate is that I recently upgraded my software and found that I now have to pay an annual subscription and for what? I don't need or want any of the features they are adding. And this year they increased their subscription rate by 56%!!! I am sick of software companies lure me in, getting me to invest hours of my time building my data in their products, and then holding me hostage to extort ever higher prices. As soon as I have a chance, I'm blowing the dust off that old software and setting it up in a virtual machine to get away from this ridiculous subscription racket!
  • Subscription is a deal-breaker

We’ve used Banktivity/iBank for years and years, have found it very helpful, and have always been happy to pay for the subsequent upgrades. However, the transition to a paid subscription model means we will probably stop with version 7 and may need to look for an alternative. Even their cheapest Bronze plan is pricey for very simple checkbook needs.
