  • Free version is not useable

Just make the app cost money and quit the illusion of “free”. With the free version, every time you navigate the app (like adding a date, moving to a new screen, hitting any single button) a multi screen pop up comes up to offer you the paid version. It’s so annoying.

I used to love this app. Since I turned 35, it has been shoving perimenopause down my throat. I do not believe that just because I hit 35 that I’m now automatically going to experience this phase. I have yet to have children and still plan to someday—so the stress and fear that this is giving me is unwelcome. As advanced as Flo is getting, you’d think taking my future plans into consideration would be a feature and to not add unnecessary stress to a situation so emotional such as starting a family. I may delete after years and years of using and even being a pro subscriber.
  • Not very trans-inclusive

I’ve been using this app for around a year. The reason I’ve been using it is to keep track of my period specifically so I don’t get surprised and therefore really dysphoric. This app has achieved the opposite of my dysphoria-relieving goals. Not only is everything pink, every single model is (I assume) a cisgender woman. A lot of information from professionals constantly uses terms such as “when a girl gets her period” and things like that. A secret chat is even called “You Go, Girl”. As a trans man, this app has made me feel severely dysphoric unnecessarily, but it’s my only option. Please accommodate to include trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, and other genders in wording, colors, and pictures.

  • BE CAREFUL if you have a different cycle than 28 days

My husband and I avoid having intercourse during my ovulation days I used another app to do so. We have been doing this for 8 years and have not had a slip up because I am very regular and consistent. I downloaded Flo and I had put my cycle as 35 days and still the app predicted my ovulation to be every 14 days instead of every 21 days for my cycle. I didn’t think the app would have this glitch and I blame myself for not making sure about the switch up. And guess who is pregnant now, unexpectedly!
  • Do Not Recommend! Highly Dislike

Original version was great, and really appreciated it simplicity and straightforwardness. New version is terrible in my opinion. Unfortunately I purchased a one year subscription (based on my earlier experience) and now I cannot wait for the year to be up and the app membership to be canceled. Super unhappy with all the weird & completely unnecessary & unrelated ‘extras’ Very bummed out that the developers ruined something that was already good. I even find some of the new features uncomfortable, highly concerning, and disturbing.
  • Overly aggressive upgrade tactics

I was a premium member throughout my pregnancy and felt it was worth the price. I’ve since downgraded and they show me multi-step “special member upgrade offers” I can’t close out of - every single time I try to use the app. It’s so aggressive I’m going to switch to another app for period tracking. I almost feel penalized for having upgraded. I understand it’s a business, but you’ve made the app unusable. Side note: sending a new mom push notifications that say things like ‘it’s official, today is for self care only’ is tone deaf. Who has this luxury, on a Tuesday, with a baby?
  • Update more moods and symptoms

I love Flo and have been using it for yearssss. I would love it more if the developers added more symptoms and moods of menstruation and pregnancy. Such as, constant crying, chatty (it’s a real mood) quiet, fear, hopelessness, feeling elated. And symptoms such as lightheaded, dizziness, heightened sense of smell, nosebleeds, vivid dreams, aching hips, itchiness, varicose veins etc. It is difficult navigating through these changes alone, sometimes it feels like we’re just crazy. Adding just a few of these would help ease the anxiety felt through pregnancy and the constant change of menstruation. Some women and girls aren’t fully educated on their body and this app is a great tool for us women to better understand ourselves.
