  • Enough with the updates

Generally a good, affordable system/app. Except for a huge complaint: they continue to mess with the app format... Every. Single. Update. It's annoying to have to constantly learn the new formatting and they are often making it *less* user friendly. A while back they got rid of the timeline on the bottom, until there were enough one star reviews for them to bring it back. Now they have the app switch back to small screen view every time you turn your phone from landscape to portrait. It changes your zoom, too. I never leave reviews, but I'm so tired of these changes.

Something happened in the last few weeks and I’m not sure where the issue lies. My old faithful YI Dome camera, which I have had for years, disconnected itself and I haven’t been able to get it back online since. Even after AT LEAST 20 reset attempts in one session and over 10 on another day, the camera pairs to wifi then…nothing. From what I’ve read online this is a pervasive issue but company support for this is a joke. No one that works there has any idea what’s causing this issue and how to fix it. I’m now shopping around for a new camera that works.
  • Can’t view SD card history

I cannot view any of my SD card history with this update. I have the latest version and it only shows me 6 seconds with no option to watch additional footage on my SD card, which is why I bought these cameras to begin with. PLEASE fix this.

  • Viewing Issues

Since the 4.6 update the picture can now be maximized but when tipping iPad to view in landscape it pops vertical. My OS is IOS 15.0.1. Please fix!! *****EDIT***** 10/12/21 you put out an update saying fix for camera viewing issues, the issue isn’t fixed. Still won’t stay in landscape. It pops to portrait when turning device to landscape position….It works correctly on my iPhone but not on iPad
  • This new format is stupid

I dont normally waste my time writing reviews but i think this particular time deserves it. I was very very happy with the app and its previous format. I liked the simplicity and ease of access it used to have. Now not so much. I hate it. I hate it so much that this is a great motivator to just throw these cameras in the thrash and buy a whole new system. I dont know why developers take a great working app and complicate the very thing that made it great. I am disappointed
  • Used to be nice clean interface

The newer versions seem to be add more junk to the interface making the application less usable than it used to be. The current touch and dim function overlay is incredibly annoying and serves little purpose except to make it more difficult to see and navigate zooming on image. Had Yi Home for several years now and am not liking the direction they are headed.
  • Latest update killed functionality

The latest update which took away the ability to easily see past videos really tanked this app’s usefulness. Horrible change. Makes it unusable.
  • They fixed it!

Edited to change to 5 stars. They fixed everything they broke. A great app for decent, affordable cameras. This app used to be great. I use this camera in my baby’s nursery. With the latest app it’s almost impossible to use without a subscription. I want to easily go back and see exactly when she started crying so I know how long it’s been and now I can’t anymore. Will likely have to get a different camera system and definitely won’t be buying more Yi cameras.
