  • Great. Fix the watch app

Great phone app. Watch app was the best until they screwed up the “download to Apple Watch” feature. Went from easy, seamless, and reliable, to complicated and unreliable. Please go back to when things were good.
  • Buggy Watch App - Great iPhone App

The watch app is okay but not up to the same level of quality as the phone app. The watch app frequently crashes and doesn’t automatically restart when interrupted by something else. The app crashes very time the watch reconnects to the phone after being disconnected for a while. For example, I use the watch app when walking my dogs but leave my phone at home. The watch app crashes when we get close enough to my house for the watch to detect and establish a Bluetooth connection to my phone. The app crashes every single time in this scenario.

Your player is hands down the best. After Rogan moved there it was annoying to to try and use the Spotify app to play not just his podcast but also others. Plus a year and a half after they switched it’s still very glitchy. Thanks for having a well functioning app and not trying to reinvent the wheel.

I used stitcher podcast app for long time. But it became slower and slower to launch, and recently it frequently get disconnected from server and don’t update the feeds. Ads are more and more aggressively put in between Podcasts. I searched for an alternative and I found that Overcast is a very good one. because (1) I don’t need to create an account to try it out. (2) it launches fast! (3) no audio ads inserted in between podcasts I listen. (4) very affordable to remove ads. I hope Overcast maintain its philosophy of its operation and many users support the developer.

I got my first iPhone in 2013 and disliked the apple podcasts app right away. A friend recommended Overcast and I’ve been happily paying for it every year since. It’s really clean. The information hierarchy is easy to understand. You have podcasts. You can listen to the episodes and download them. You can view just your downloads. So easy. You can also make playlists, which I do not care to do, but hey I’m sure it’s also a good feature. Most importantly, there’s no feed, no ads (please just pay for it), and a minimalistic recommendation page tucked under search. It’s up to you to manage your podcasts and that’s how I like it. It’s run by one guy, Marco, who is awesome. 5 stars.

I wish could save favorite episodes after played in an easy way. You can save favorite episodes but will disappear off list after played again. I like it fine- just could be a bit better with organization. I use it because it does not try and sync up with everything like the apple pod app does. I don’t have to have a million settings for it.
