I’m the type of person if I don’t write it down I won’t remember it. I have been looking for a calendar app that is easy to use and can keep my personal life and work life separate. I have tried just about every app out there and Fantastical is my choice. I have even opted in to pay the subscription fee. It has every feature I have been looking for. It keep getting better with every update. It just fits in so well with my productivity system. I can’t say enough good things about this app keep up the amazing work.
  • PRICING

TL;DR — 2x to 3x cost of ANY other comparable or competitor application’s subscription I use when I get the native service applications for free $40/year always stung. 2023 price increase may be Flexibits swan song in my  ecosphere. Thanks for bringing “family plan” prices to single user subscriptions. Seriously considering letting all Flexibits go (no subscription; not worth it) as every app has gone full SaaS instead of by the Major release and get X number of incremental until you by it again. Not sure if it’s astronomical server costs or software development of “2 apps for the price of 1” with Fantastical & Cardhop under one subscription umbrella. Whatever it is, you’re about to seriously blow it with long time power users who love this versus native service applications e.g. Goggle, Microsoft etc that every year close the feature gap with something they give away for free the us power user customers are already paying for the professional version.
  • Can you add a today button?

I normally view my calendar in full screen month view. Clicking the Month Year header in the top left of the screen brings you to the beginning of the month and not the current day. The current day 3/21 isn’t even in view when you hit the header so it’s useless. The desktop and iPad versions of the app have a Today button. It’s pretty indispensable.
  • so buggy

The quick add is a killer feature. Other than that fantastical is incredibly buggy. Zoom and calendar integrations constantly have to re-added. On top of that, and much worse, there is no indication whatsoever when your calendar integration has broken. I’ve missed multiple calls because of this because fantastical will show an outdated schedule with no indication that this is so. Please fix this!
  • I Will not be Renting a Calendar

No Way I’m going to be renting a calendar app. I want to pay upfront and own the app. Then be able to get the newest version IF i want to. Cannot use free version. As is constantly reminding me that I should upgrade to premium. Old users are now reminded every minute to sign up for subscription.
  • $59.95???? Time to find another calendar

I’ve been a loyal Fantastical user since the very beginning. Starting with version 1 I stuck with you through all your bugs and growing pains and I purchased each update, then subscribed when the annual subscriptions began. First $19.95, then $39.95 and now $59.95. But wait, $59.95 each year for a calendar??? I’m sorry, Fantastical you’re pricing is nothing short of ludicrous and I’m leaving your dystopian world of pricing crazy for a nimbler, less bloated and more reasonably priced alternative.
  • I don’t understand how it can be this bad.

I literately pasted an event that was: Event Title Date and time (a few weeks for now), 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM PT Address Fantastical creates an ALL DAY event for TODAY. Does NOT USE THE ACTUAL EVENT DATE OR TIME - but has hyperlinks to do so via iOS Calendar! It also leave the location blank. Then I try to manually enter the date and time and it start at 2031!!!! The dates and time inputs were nonsensical. This is supposed to be a mature application that uses their soooo touted NLP. EPIC FAIL. I’ve been a user for YEARS AND THIS APP is worse than it was a few years ago. So much for the “subscriptions make apps better.”
  • Shady practices.

Shady company. Removes paid for app, makes people buy new subscription instead. Complain? You gotta go through support and they restore your features. Also, find their pricing. They hide it in a link at the bottom of their web site, and even then refuse to show the full cost because they KNOW it’s overpriced and don’t want sticker shock to stop your download. You don’t go to those lengths unless you know what you’re up to, and it’s shady. If they do all that, I expect they break every privacy promise they make, harvest and sell your data, etc etc. I’m staying far far away, and I suggest you do too.
  • Widget freezes

I’ve been using Fantastical since Fantastical 2. I use the iPhone version. Recently got my first MacBook and decided to purchase Fantastical for my MacBook. I’m still in my trial period, but it seemed that as soon as I installed the app on my MacBook the widget on my iPhone keeps freezing and crashing. Every time I open the widget to check off a task, it freezes and then the app shuts down. Needless to say, I will be uninstalling it he MacBook app.
