TIPS FOR MAPPING ROUTES • For longer routes, try zooming in and mapping your route in multiple segments. • Tap and hold the map to quickly route between waypoints and POIs. • Did Footpath snap to the wrong roads? Trace over the incorrect segment to edit, or use the eraser tool. • Turn off snap to roads (magnet icon) and zoom in to manually trace the map. (Try switching to a satellite layer). • Displaying maps and continuously running GPS in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Navigate without maps or with the screen off for all day battery life. CONTACT US We've got a lot planned for Footpath. In the latest rev. I seem to miss how to draw a path where there is no road. There might be a walking path.
  • Walking to work…

With inflation & record high gasoline prices, I have walked to work. Finding the best root via sidewalks is my desire, but not satisfied with this app.

You can only save routes to your online account. Why? That’s ridiculous. There is no reason for that. Saving a file on the device it was created with is basic functionality a person could do 45 years ago. I think an account is a premium feature - like they say: it is so you can share it across other footpath devices, whatever that means. But since you can’t really use this without paying, it is yet another Freemium app. By the way devs, I’ve been burned before with apps that don’t work without service. Have any of you actually gone hiking or travelled somewhere where you don’t have data access?
  • Great tool

This is a great tool. It records routes and rates. It let’s the user export routes that can be shared or imported into another app or device. In theory the reverse is possible, but I haven’t done that. It’s not Facebook for runners. You can share your workout, but that seems secondary. Primarily it helps you plan and record activities. How it does that is it lets me draw with my finger on a map to figure out how far I am going and elevation changes on the route. I know if I’ve increased the distance enough or too much before I leave the house. I know if there is a big hill or valley on the route. The planning done or just out the door and start going, it will record the activity and tell me how I did. What do you want?
  • Favorite route planning app!

    By running for fun too
Just figured out how to import maps from Caltope so I can preview routes that are upcoming trail races that a race director has created and posted. And am learning how to use the turn prompts in the race. Seems to be a certain order of which app to start first, and trees and ravines throw the gps off a bit; but overall a great app. Have been using it for several years and love to have old routes and races stored. Now it’s easy to separate them into categories too. The various maps are great!

Easy to use..can track an easy walk, a paddle on the lake or a ling bike ride which I just completed. Great to set goals and track progress. Extremely accurate!
  • My direction

When I tap on arrow icon, to lock my direction/rotation, so map is rotated while I’m riding my bike. For the 60% of my route it’s working okay, showing/rotating map accordingly my actual phone(actual me on bike) rotation, but on all other cases it’s showing me as 90 degrees rotated in a wrong way, sometimes even upside down. In usual navigation apps, for example maps.me or even google maps this works without such problems. 2. Another big problem - it’s showing my location at on map with 3-5 seconds delay, so when I ride on place and already actually there - where I have to turn and I actually see it - this app is showing me as I still located behind/before/still going. So I have to stop and wait a bit, so it will update my real position. This is really awkward. All this should be implemented as in other navigation apps, they do a lot of tricks to prevent all such behavior and problems. Without this improvements this app doesn’t deserve any paid options. I have offline maps in other free apps and can navigate gpx routes for free to, which this glitchy app don’t do. So no sense to pay at all.

I really like this app and all the development that has gone into it. I really wish the developers would let a family share a paid account.

Love this app for route planning - running, hiking, whatever. No nonsense, easy to use, never had an issue with anything.
