Love the three color system. Love the lessons. There is as much talk about the underlining reasons for weight gain as there is learning what and how to eat. It stresses mindful eating, great changing habits suggestions and support. It encourages water and moving your body. Although hard at first, I love the daily weigh ins. I donā€™t like the weight chart. Itā€™s hard to read the track. I wish there was a place to note weekly gains and loses in a succinct data table or something. I am also still unhappy with the inability to sync my Fitbit with noom app. I have worked with support and done everything (multiple times) to make it work, yet every day I have to manually enter steps. Even then I have to add miles distance or time. There is not a category for steps ā˜¹ļø
  • What a pleasant surprise

I was very very skeptical. In fact I did not sign up several times after going through the interview. This program makes me feel like Iā€™m in some zen zone. No pressure not stressing and so far it already started working. Iā€™m happy.

The UX team should be fired. I just spent 20 minutes trying to add the home cooked enchiladas I ate. Had to do it three times because the interface is so horrible. Worthless!
  • Payments are confusing

Their online support team seems uninterested in answering questions about payments. I wanted to spend more money on a better plan and could not get an answer about how much more it would cost. When it comes to payments for this app, they donā€™t interested in provide answers.

Noom makes changes to the website and doesnā€™t communicate them. Some of the changes arenā€™t necessarily better.
  • Please do not JUST use Noomā€”-see a doctor

I signed up for Noom last year. The ā€œassignmentsā€ and motivation tools are good. There is no denying that. However, the upgraded membership with the coaching is not an asset. Many people love Noom. To start with I thought I would pay for the service forever, even when I lost the weight. It was more about getting healthy than a size or weight. The first few months went well. I did not feel the need for treat days. I was continuing to do the ā€œright thingsā€ but hit what I thought was a plateau. I reached out to the coaches. I reached out repeatedly as the weight not only did not come off but despite my very diligent efforts (mostly green choices, more exercise, hitting zone minutes, and ā€œshaking things upā€ as directed). Never once as the weight kept coming back even though I was eating less (calories/fat and sugar) and getting much more exercise did one of the coaches suggest I should consult a doctor. Feeling worse than ever before, feeling like a failure and completely disgusted I considered renewing with the ā€œmedical planā€ but did not have questions answered and did not feel confident about pouring a fair amount of money into the ā€œnew and improved programā€. Thank goodness I didnā€™t! I went to see a doctor instead. The medication which was strongly implied would be prescribed if i rejoined is not the right choice ā€¦.why? Because I have an underlying medical issue which needs to be addressed. You may get what you want from Noom. I hope you do. However, do not just trust that it is your fault or you need weight loss medication or you are being dishonest with yourself via the app. You may have hypothyroidism. Approximately 11% of the population of the US does and many many cases go undiagnosed.

I only have two suggestions: 1. It would be nice to see some basic nutritional summaries at the end of the day/week. I would love to see how much protein, calcium, etc Iā€™m getting! 2. When I use the option to listen to the lessons, it sounds like robots are reading them. Sometimes they mispronounce words or put the emphasis on wrong syllables, and the inflections are strange. They would be much more meaningful if an actual human read them!
  • Inconsistent at best

Donā€™t expect coaches to be available, because they take days to respond and when they do they donā€™t answer your questions, instead they just paste canned responses. The app provides conflicting recommendations regarding food recommendations, with no clear data behind those recommendations and no answers from coaches when asked to clarify. In theory this app/system is a great idea, but the company falls flat is delivering what they promise.

I had great success with the Noom program, but as soon as they got my renewal money for the second year the app stopped working and after 2 support tickets, 2 phone calls and multiple emails, I wasnā€™t able to use the app for 11 days + and I am so annoyed but the LACK of support I cancelled my subscription. There correspondence was friendly but empty of solutions! Terrible customer serviceā€¦ so if you have no issues, itā€™s great, but if you have and issueā€¦well, good luck!!
