  • User friendly but could be improved

Easy to use but needs a hot link feature that lets the user read articles that continue on multiple pages and allows the user to return to the starting page. This was a feature in an earlier version but not in this version.

I read my home town paper every morning, no matter where I am. I appreciate the convenience of receiving it digitally. If I want to share an article or read it later, I can send it to myself or someone else as an email. In addition, I like the easy link to the Washington Post supplement all week long. I find the new app a little harder to use. Page turnIng is not always easy. I miss (or have not found) the option to see the whole paper in a small version, so I can select a specific page to read. In addition, it seems like one of my favorite conveniences has gone, which was the link back to the page where the article started. The page number was underlined and I just touched it to get back to the page where the article started. Thanks for asking.
  • Unable to access the publication

Although I have a subscription through the app, since the “upgrade” I am unable to download the daily editions. The message is “you don’t have access to this publication. (24)”. If that is the case, why am I paying for it? What are you going to do to fix it?
  • Like the app, but...

I sure wish you were able to print out the puzzles on a tablet, and that the games would open as they did before the upgrade. It is now impossible to play the games on a tablet as the screen moves around on you and is not stable. For those two things I only give this app a 2 star rating.tothe real paper. The only drawback with the digital version is that the New York Times crossword won't print properly. Have to go online on regular computer to print the whole thing.
  • Latest update

    By Dtardy
Today’s update has made for a frustrating morning. I can no longer read the paper like I used to. I used to be able to have the option to go to specific pages, have the paper open to fill my whole iPad screen and print the crossword puzzle from the app. Those options are no longer available no matter whether I choose print or digital versions or how I select my page layout. I was told by customer service to pinch the puzzle, take a screen shot and print it. That gives me the tiniest puzzle ever when printed. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am not impressed!

With the old app I could print the puzzles (sudoku & Jumble) quickly and easily with my phone. You eliminated that function with this new upgrade. Please fix or I certainly won’t be renewing my subscription
  • Hate this new format.

    By helix081
Not liking the new format. Too many clicks to get to an article you want to read where before you could just scroll up and down and click once. Also, it’s really hard to read titles for a lot of the stories. You have to zoom in just to even see what it’s about.

Love the digital read of the papaer
  • Dislike the new format

    By stevefenwick
Really dislike the new format (v. that requires swiping through every story vs the prior version that had the first few lines in a scrolling format. Hard to tell how to go back beyond the current issue in the digital format. Print format? What is this, 1921?

My husband and I hate the new edition. Miss the arrows that would allow us to turn page conveniently, skip items we are not interested in, etc. This morning after I read the paper and was going on to to play games in it. No place to hit “Games”. WHY would you change that? Just to complicate things. We see nothing extra about this new paper. And now the color of my app is white I guess. So what is the reason for that?
