  • Dark mode needs some love

Good app for reading on my Mac but the dark mode is not all that dark. Lots of white boxes. wish it automatically picked up that my mac is in dark mode instead of me having to manually turn on kindle's dark mode in the settings.
  • Requires Rosetta to run on an M1/M2 Mac

This is so backwards. I am not going to run Rosetta since I left behind Intel based Macs years ago. If they can design this app for M1 and M2 iPads, they can do it here. Amazon, once again, is behind the times.

The platform has to get better on the MacOS.
  • app with dated UI. crashes constantly

If the app was stable, i'd give it a 3 -4. It does allow you to read your kindle books on a mac. And using and reviewing the notes you've taken still woks best on a computer vs mobile. The the UI is old and fussy. Some basic features seem to be missing (eg. pages don't update when you scroll thourgh the notes and vice versa). BUT, the app crashes constantly. Often 3-4 times in an hour setting. Barely usable
  • Inferior in all ways to the web reader

No real dark mode and no real full screen for distraction free reading. Amazon clearly wants you to use the web reader instead.
  • doesn’t work any more

The upgraded app (this one) will not work on my iMac OS, and I can’t upgrade my MAC (late 2013) All of the past Kindle apps have worked great. So… I wanted to install a eairlier version of the app as the install of this new one deleted the old one that was working. Aparently there is no wy to get an older version … So, don’t try to install this one if you have a late 2013 iMac… it will kill your working version of Kindle.. and there is no fix… sniff!
