App has gotten worse with time, now slow and glitchy on an IPhone 12 Pro Max
  • Former 5 star app but has lost its shine

    By PhillyPALady
I’m a paying user and historically have LOVED the app. It has helped me find great hikes to do all over the country and find my way while hiking. I use the app 3-4x per week. Over recent couple of months, it started working very, very slowly and crashing often. Fortunately, removing it and then reinstalling it finally solved that problem. However, they recent upgrade has made it much less usable. Basically, you have to use the “navigate” function (which is the old “record”) to see where you are on the map. I have no interest in recording — I just want to know where I am. What a bummer.
  • If you hike/bike/climb/outdoors anything it’s a must have!

My family and I have been using this app to rub elbows with the best hikers in the US. WITHOUT THIS APP WE WOULD BE LOST! seriously though it’s amazing and what makes it amazing is you and I! Our revies so post regularly and get out there!!
  • Poor integration with the Apple ecosystem

    By ahite18
The platform is great. Easy to find places to hike. Easy to see hikes others have done. Easy to plan your own trips on the website and then use that map on your phone. All great. They kind of integrated with Apple health by writing some categories of data. However, they want you to input your height and weight for calculating calories. Why can’t they read that data from Apple health? Also, the workout data they do write is pretty sparse. No heart rate graph (even with Apple Watch) and no map. The Apple Watch app seems to close itself pretty often. I’d raise my wrist to check, but I’d be back on my watch face, so I’d have to navigate back to the app. There’s also no way to import a workout/activity from Apple health.
  • Stop collecting private data.

Why is this app collecting Contact Info, Identifiers, and Search History? Unacceptable. Just let me pay for the app and let me keep my data mine.
  • Latest update made app useless

You change the distance to park and makes you pay 30 bucks now to see parks near me! Use to love this app but not paying 30 bucks a year, app deleted
  • Used to work good.

I’ve used this app now for several months and even paid for the premium version. I haven’t had any problems until yesterday on the longest ride I’ve done so far by myself. Long story short the app crashed time after time rendering it completely useless. Wish I had the $30 back. Happy to pay for things that work. Unhappy to have wasted money. Hope it’s just and update with bug fixes but who knows.

I lived in Atlanta for 12 years and I’m finding so many hidden gems thanks to this app
  • Pro version App crashing and not usable when offline

    By EC in SF
I’m a long time user and fan of all trails. Overall it is a great app. I pay the significant annual fee for the pro version primarily for the offline access and saved maps. Unfortunately, on my most recent camping trip the app crashed or froze every time I opened it while offline. With no cell/network access, I had no way to fix/ troubleshoot. Fortunately I can read a map, but this is a frustrating bug.
  • Worth the download

Visiting South Dakota I used AllTrails to discover the trail suggested and navigate in my vehicle to the trailhead. Started my ride on an out and back. When I got to the end of the trail to turn around my mobile no longer had my route and said “loading” or trouble loading. Tried to get back and could not. Then had to select the ride again and record coming back. Not sure what the glitch was. The fact that other riding apps did not have Tinton Rd trail on them. AllTrails navigated me to the trailhead and the map was very accurate to stay on trail. That’s what really mattered. I am not sure if others have stated this, but in the description of the trail and the time it takes it would be helpful to include the method. For example bike, hike or run. I would still highly recommend this app.
