Version 8 looks great but it did have a number of usability issues after its initial release. As of today many of those issues have been fixed and the dev team is actively listening to user feedback, fixing existing issues and introducing new useful features. Responsive customer service is one of the strong points of this company. Keep it up, and I’m looking forward to whatever you have planned next. P.S. For those who air their grievances here in the iOS review section - you are much better off posting your specific issue at https://1password.community where the developers can better troubleshoot and respond to you, and other users with similar issues can chime in, which ultimately leads to your issues being resolved sooner.
  • What the heck happened?!

I’ve used 1Password for a *very* long time. Since at v3, maybe earlier. I’ve never questioned whether I can trust it. I upgraded the iOS app, and have repeatedly created multiple records for the same login, because after saving (in some circumstance, still trying to get repro steps), the edit sheet opens again as if I hadn’t saved it. Hitting save again creates a duplicate record. Sometimes it opens AGAIN after that! Im paranoid to /not/ hit save, because what if it really didn’t save? On top of that the new UX buries categories three levels deep! Glad I spent all that time using it as a private notes app. This is bananas. EDIT: All of us are reporting the same bugs—don’t tell us to email support. If you all aren’t experiencing the bugs, then you’re not using the software. What are you doing over there 1P?
  • I was billed after canceling my subscription

This app is impossible to use. As a result, I cancelled the subscription right away. Notwithstanding, 1Password. Barged me for a 1-year subscription that I never applied for. I disputed the charge after my bank paid the unauthorized 1-year subscription.

Just updated to 8 from 7. I have an iPhone. When I try to select an item, it loads the details then immediately bumps me out to list of items. I can’t see the detailed login information 😡 unusable!
  • Great Service, Frustrating App

I love 1Password and I have come to depend on it a lot. However, the autocomplete features just stop working from time to time. I go through the steps and select the sign-in I want, and return back to an app or webpage but nothing gets filled in. I eventually have to manually copy and paste values into each field.

  • Buggy Since 8 release

I love 1Password and have used it for years both personally and professionally. However, since the 8 release, there’s been a handful of bugs that have been a bit irritating. Initially the lack of Apple Watch integration off the bat was a bit frustrating, thankfully they sort of fixed that but still has random flaws where the OTP doesn’t update consistently. Another issue I’ve been running into more recently on the phone app, if I switch from one app to another and then back to 1PW, it will open a random password file (not the one I was copying data from) as if I clicked “edit”… what’s scary is I don’t know if changes have been made to the password or not… I’ve been clicking “discard changes” just in case to get rid of it but this is frustrating because I haven’t tried to open any other files. This is treatable every time and it’s always a different file. 1PW, please resolve this one as it has the potential to create altered passwords that aren’t correct and could wreak havoc on shared passwords between team members. Please reach out if you need further details.
  • Nice features but simply one of the buggiest apps I have ever used

I am a software engineer and I get that building apps is challenging but this is simply one of the buggiest apps I have ever used. At every step, the UI displays incorrect information. Whenever I open the dedicated iOS app, a random login is displayed and it appears to be in edit mode. I have no idea what changes may or may not have been made. Click cancel, “save changes”? When in a web site and selecting a login entry to fill a username / password, the list of matching logins always appears to be in a random order and it changes between a username selection and a secondary password selection. How about just alphabetical? Any idea when some of these issues might be addressed? I recently moved to the platform after leaving a competing option based on multiple data breaches, I wonder if the UI issues are indicative of a bigger quality issue?

After trying 1P8 for a few weeks I got so frustrated that I retreated back to 1P7. Now months and months later 1P8 is STILL a buggy slog. Honestly what is going on with this product? My entire family is upset at me for getting them on this platform. 10 years using this product and this is what it’s come to. I can’t wait for Apple to develop a password free solution so I can say my goodbyes to this once glorious app. You had a good run 1P but you’re just not what you used to be and it’s so frustrating.
  • Good security, design suffering.

This app used to be streamlined and I could easily get to what I needed, quickly. It seems that with the last few updates over the last couple of years, it’s getting progressively harder to get to what you need. It’s a good app and one I’ve been using for probably 13 years or so. But while I appreciate the frequent updates and features, the app seems visually bloated and unnecessarily convoluted.
