I was very hesitant about jumping into the digital world after stubbornly being a pencil and paper player for so long. But it’s so good! It hasn’t hampered my play at all. It’s actually helping me organize my stuff a lot better, keep track of my items and inventory, attunement slots, and everything. And multiclassing? So easy!! I don’t need to worry about figuring out how many spell slots are for what class! If there was one critique it would be that the artificer infusions are pretty clunky. And they only work if you set them up on a browser and not on the app. But in general, it’s wonderful!

I love D&D so much, I just wish it wasn’t as expensive. It makes it hard to buy it. I know it’ll probably just increase with popularity so I don’t expect prices to go down, but it would be nice. I also think that it might be a good idea if you could make it to where if you bought the physical copy, it would unlock the digital copy. Anyway, it’s a great game and I love using it to connected with people!

Absolutely great, really useful on the go. I would suggest making the app with more feature similar to the website.
  • The familiar we all needed

I started playing D&D again with a friend when lockdown started. We played over Zoom sometimes, but then we started meeting at a public pool in my neighborhood with lights and tables for our games. Being able to have all my characters on my phone reduced the paperwork that was trying to blow away or just warping with the humidity as winter came on. The feature where a DM with a higher tier subscription can share source books with players in their campaign for character leveling saved me money during an uncertain time. Being able to roll dice in the app is great, but I still prefer to do that the old fashioned way. The “extras” tab needs more fanfare! I had been trying to figure out the best way to record all the Wild Shape beasts for quick reference, when I discovered it’s all there in the Extras tab, along with familiars and sidekicks and more. The app is great. Highly recommended. As a mobile app developer, I am impressed that I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a bug. There are features I look forward to for home brew, but that’s a huge undertaking. The free version is all you need until you start to want more than 5 characters. Very generous, and the lowest subscription is a good trade for a trip to Starbucks. I’m happy to see D&D and interactive storytelling with other live humans become so mainstream and popular. One thing I would love to see is codes in the physical books that unlock that content in the app. Even if there’s a small fee. Paying for source material twice is prohibitively expensive.
  • Awesome tool for creating characters

I used this app to create characters and was surprised at how easy it is. I love the ability to go in and look up your characters and their abilities and spells It’s a time saver. I DM a campaign now and have everyone use this app. Plus there are so many reference guides. I highly recommend this app.

App has you swipe left and right to change pages. App also alllows you to swipe right to get to the Home Screen, so attempting to go back a page frequently dumps you to out of the app. Very annoying.
  • Great tool

Extremely useful app for quick reference and playing the game. Would love it if in a future update there was a way for DM’s to limit which source materials were allowed for character creation within the app or website, so that those options wouldn’t pop up for players to choose.
  • Character Creation Issue

So essentially I normally used the website, at some point I got on as usual and tried to make a character sheet for a campaign however, when I clicked to make one it didn’t load at all and I even tried to just access my already created characters but, it still didn’t work. I got on the app, while I could access my already created character sheets, I for some reason still couldn’t make a new one. I’ve tried and tried and I’m not even sure if it’s an internet issue or not anymore, either way I would still like for this to be fixed as I’ve actually enjoyed making characters on dnd beyond and the way things have worked originally, but if I can’t make a character sheet then it removed a lot of the enjoyment. I love dnd beyond and it’s well done in my opinion but, I would love for this issue to be remedied, thank you. P.S. (Sorry if there’s a chance this came off as aggressive I don’t mean for it to- I genuinely do love dnd beyond and that’s exactly why I wrote this, so I can keep using it! Once again, thank you!)

The fact that you have to buy access to races, classes and feats just means it’s a money grab
