Very good app for D&D but if you went and bought all the books like I did…. There is no way to transfer those classes/sub classes, races, spells and monsters into your account. They straight up ask that you buy all of it digitally. So, from now on i may buy them digitally. Thank god for homebrew. The homebrew content is awesome.

You didn’t my consent to change the name I wanted. Now I have to go through a support ticket and wait for days for a response about changing the name I never asked for. This game designed in 1992 and never updated? this is ridiculous that it doesn’t show you if the name is available or not.

Great app, just some information can only be accessed by purchasing books, which I totally get it’s just that even if you know something if you don’t have the book you can’t look at it.

Love the app overall, but the movement speed and proficiency bonus moved to their own pages instead of being at the top, which is less efficient and rather inconvenient.

I have an iPad 5th generation that tops out at iPadOS 16. The app is not usable. The screen will briefly “flash” something on the display as I use the app. It looks like it says “recalibrate” or “sync”. It’s fast and I can’t make it out. D&D beyond is the only app on my iPad that does this. The app works great on my iPhone with iOS 17. Just doesn’t cut it on the older iPad. A one star review may seem harsh for that, but if you advertise it works on a platform, it should work on the platform. 7-11-2024: Screen still “flashes”. I was able to make out that it’s the compass calibration screen for the OS. That’s weird. This still does not happen with any other app on the iPad except for D&D Beyond.

When I was doing D&D in the 80s, this thing would’ve been Star Trek technology. It has everything and it’s wonderful. It makes the mechanics very nice. It has good access to your characters and allows the game to go a lot more smoothly without you having to work every mechanic. At least on The iPhone there are some things that can be improved. There are some things that can only be done on the website that can’t be done on the app. And it’s easy to fat finger and get totally lost because the app resets itself to whatever you were looking at the app before you went to the website, and you lose whatever it was you were doing on the website. The new wizards interface has less stuff, which feels like a loss.

We've used this app for years, and love it. But the most recent update broke the app. It won't even load, it just sits saying "Updating Resources", and I give up after five full minutes. Also the new UI update (before this one) isn't as helpful, since now simple things are hidden and we have to dig to find them (walking speed). We have a game in two days, so I sure hope the loading problem gets fixed before then.

I use this app for all the campaigns I’m in. Unfortunately a recent update for the iPad interface removed the walking speed and proficiency bonus off of the main “abilities, saves, senses” screen. Now walking speed is tucked away in speed and defenses (a screen that isn’t even on the iPhone version) and I can’t even find the proficiency bonus. It was fine the way it was before, now I can’t find these things easily during combat if I forget the values 🤷🏻‍♂️
