How To Download MyShake On Chromebook

If you're looking to Download MyShake on your Chromebook laptop Then read the following guideline.

MyShake is a comprehensive and free earthquake app offering these features: Earthquake Early Warnings Receive timely, potentially life-saving early warning alerts in California, Oregon and Washington. MyShake uses the USGS ShakeAlertTM system to deliver alerts for earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 (or greater) several seconds before shaking arrives. Earthquake Safety View safety tips for earthquake preparedness such as securing hazardous or moveable items and creating a disaster plan. Know what to do during an earthquake and learn more about Drop, Cover and Hold On! Earthquake Map and Details View and explore a map of earthquakes around the world and get detailed information such as earthquake magnitude, location and depth. Share your own experience of an earthquake and see community reports of shaking and damage. Earthquake Notifications Stay informed of earthquakes as they occur by receiving notifications on your phone. Select your regions of interest and the earthquake magnitude. You’ll never miss out on any earthquake greater than magnitude 3.5! Smartphone-Based Global Seismic Network Participate in a smartphone-based global seismic network. In this research project, your phone becomes a mini-seismometer and contributes to the detection of earthquakes wherever you are. This global citizen-science based seismic network has the potential to provide early warning earthquake alerts in every region of the world, even in the absence of traditional seismic networks! About Us MyShake is developed by the University of California, Berkeley, Seismology Lab and funded by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. The Berkeley Seismology Lab conducts essential research on earthquakes and solid earth processes while collecting and delivering high quality geophysical data. MyShake is available in English, Spanish (Español), Chinese Traditional (繁體中文), Filipino, Korean (한국인), and Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt). MyShake is available to everyone for free with no ads and no subscription! Learn more at http://myshake.berkeley.edu/

I’d had My shake APP for months! With the resent series of earthquakes we experienced in California a couple of months ago I didn’t receive notifications from MY SHAKE. Instead the APP FROZE! Since then I don’t trust it. I feel it’s deceiving. A false sense of security. Please improve it! I have seen in the news how Mexico has had the early warning Public Alarms for years! As other countries do. Why can’t you simply asked them how they came about with that invention? I’ll wait to download the My Shake APP. When it becomes I bit more reliable. Thank you for trying!

Wanted to note for anyone who doesn’t understand how the app works…there are sensors placed for MyShake once that sensor senses a wave, it quickly alerts the users. The issue is if you live right next to the fault, you won’t get much of a heads up, so stop putting negative reviews. The San Andreas for instance can definitely give Los Angeles City residents a few seconds of a warning since the San Andreas is not under LA city. There is no way the app can predict earthquakes so please understand the science before you give a review. It’s an app to save lives. It works well. I’ve never had any issues with it, warned each time, thank you.

This app does not work. I would remove it from your phone your iPad anything whatever device you have a download on it’s worthless it doesn’t let you know about any activity at all. It’s wasting space in your devices. I’m very disappointed.

I guess distance matters. I had several seconds warning for a quake 150 miles away. The next on was 13 miles away so the app activated a couple of second after it started. This app however will not bring boys to the yard.
  • Not worth it!

This app notified me only once and after few minutes the earthquake had happened. So what’s the point to have this app?

idk why the reviews are poor. it has informed me of a quake at least 15 seconds before it happens. it has a distinct sound/alarm so i can distinguish from a text or other notification.

I had the app for a year. Never received a notification so I deleted it. I saw some people on social media saying they were using the app and received alerts so I figured maybe it was fixed and I redownloaded it and set it up again just a few days before a really decent earthquake hit on Monday and nothing. I thought maybe I just somehow missed the notification. Nope. Nothing.

All notification settings were on before the recent earthquake in Los Angeles, which was an initial magnitude of 4.7 on USGS‘s website, I was not alerted.
