  • Slow to update courses

My home course was reopened seven months ago and the app still does not have the new information loaded. I know other apps completed the update months ago. (Course is Atlanta Athletic Club - Riverside)

Tried many… this is the best by far. Multiple views including ability to use crown to get distance to specific targets/hazards. Well done! Phone app is great too but never use during round because watch app is so good.
  • App no longer stays active on my Apple Watch

First off: I’ve been using this app for 2-3 years and love it! Recently, though, the app does not stay active on my Apple Watch . Causing me to have to re-enter my passcode during my golf rounds. This is of course time-consuming. Has something changed? I have not made any changes to my Watch settings that would bring up the passcode repeatedly. Pls advise. Thank you.

One missing feature that I’ve seeing on similar apps is the “green detail” screen. This screen shows the slope and speed on greens. Super useful especially playing unfamiliar greens that have undulation. Any thoughts to this being added on future updates?
  • Just renewed!

Love this app! It is very accurate, quick loading of all golf courses, and using the recommended club feature make a round much more enjoyable. Plus it is possibly the best Golf gps app feature wise for the money. Won’t play a round without it!

Two members of my family started using gps watches. Fine. I have an Apple Watch, there must be something out there. I tried several different golf apps. Many were clunky, slow, or just too expensive. This one though—it worked well. So much so that I got the annual subscription, even though I can’t golf every week during the winter. So far, I’ve had no trouble finding courses in Arizona, Harbor Springs MI, Indiana, and South Carolina. I liked the first layout—it was cleaner. The recent update took an adjustment but I figured it out. I don’t use club suggestions as they are built for men. But, I like the new driver distance tracking. (You hit, it tracks as you walk to the ball.) In preparation for this spring and summer…I bought an Apple Watch with a 45mm screen. This app was fine on 40mm watch 6, but my eyes will appreciate more landscape. Let’s just say the price (if you already have an Apple Watch) is right, no need to buy another gadget, and the app works well. It does drain battery life tho. You have to go out fully charged.

This app is the absolute best. Shows distances to front, back and middle of green, as well as hazards. Very intuitive, simple to use. Great score tracking as well. I would give ten stars if available.
  • Not good enough

I believe this could be the best golf app I have used. However I will not use it as is. I have tried for about 5 years communicating my issues to the developer/support people and get nothing more than thank you. I am now going to try using the review process and see if others might have the same issues. My first and biggest issue is data entry. When you enter your score, the app gives you a small portion of the screen at the bottom for score entry. This makes the entry interface area small. Even worse, the entry is rollers that have inertia so they will coast after you move your finger on it. If it coasts past, then you have to try to roll it back. Why is my data entry area confined to the small space at the bottom of the screen? The rest of the screen is still the map of the hole. The rest of the screen is useless during data entry. When you need to enter scores, I believe the screen should change so that the buttons for data entry are large and easy to hit accurately. They should be buttons, not rolling wheels with inertia. Try entering the scores for 4 people while riding shotgun in a golf cart from the green to the next tee. Very difficult. Can you imagine if you had a calculator app on your phone and in order to enter each digit you had to spin a rolling wheel and those wheels were confined to the bottom 20% of your screen while the top 80% of your screen was some sort of background picture that had nothing to do with the calculation you are trying to enter? If you try this app, think about the data entry and the end of each hole and write a review if you think it could be better. The next problem is the scorecard. The scorecard is something you are only allowed to see at the end of the round. What happens to me constantly is 2 or 3 holes into the back 9 someone or everyone in the group wants to know what they shot on the front 9. There is no way to see the scorecard. You can go to the score entry table in the app and it will show the scores on each hole played and a running total. The problem is that the running total is for all holes played. So if the running total for a player is 53 after 12 holes, then I have to add up what they shot on holes 10,11,&12 and subtract from the running total in order to answer their question. Hopefully all 3 of them don’t want to know. Why isn’t there a button to see the scorecard at any time. The scorecard produced at the end of the round is great. I don’t understand why I can’t see it during the round. I have emailed and emailed. Nothing more than “thank you”. I have sent screen shots that have been marked up to show what I believe are the problem areas. I must say that I like this app more than any other golf app and if I use a golf app on the course then it will be this one. However, I find that because of the issues I have listed, I only use it when I’m golfing by myself and I have the time and patience to deal with the above shortcomings. All other apps have similar issues or are just not as nice. Maybe someday a developer will golf a few rounds with a user and the user can demonstrate the shortcomings of their app and get some good changes. I’m sure I will get another “thank you” for the time I once again put into feedback. I normally wouldn’t bother, but this app is so close and I really don’t have an alternative app that I like.
  • Little ball icon?

I’ve had and enjoyed this app for years. There doesn’t seem to be a User Guide, but I’m trying to figure out what that little ball icon is! It’s the one just to the right of the “notes” icon on the screen that shows the hole… help?
  • A Major Disappointment

I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong but my apple watch is not updating distances on the course and I am not sure how to enter the scores. Tried to find the instructions on line but the only thing you can find is Tag heuer watch instructions (gotta pay 400 bucks plus for that toy!). Tried to call the company, spend 10 on hold, asked for call back, that is yet to happen (has been several hours). I paid for premium service - 39.99 a year. I am starting to think that I bought overadvertised dud.
