    There are a lot of pros, so I will try and keep them short! Cost - only $10/months - that’s a steal! Setup - a few clicks and data needed from you; and it’s done for you! App use - no frills and very straight forward. You can added up to seven meals a day, and the ranges are at the top for macros. You can add meals seven days out, which makes unexpected or night out dates a lot less stressful Check ins - once a week. And because everything is done for you, it tells you if you were within range or not, and then will recalculate as needed Overall, I would tell everyone about this app who is either starting their journey or a seasoned pro. It’s non judgmental, and provides a safe and effect way to start your health journey. I’ve also learned what it takes to properly fuel my body by trial and error.

    I love that Carbon Diet Coach is so user friendly. It’s so simply to hit the targets the way Layne and his team has it set up. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to lose or gain and make sure they are eating the right amounts of food. I have so much energy than I ever had while on a diet. Oh and for me, tracking is a slight addiction.

    I was a long time user of one of those other apps and I switched to Carbon over 6 months ago. It’s a move I don’t regret at all!!! The value for the money is unreal and the results speak for themselves. A good nutrition coach will cost you hundreds a month, and the fact you get a constantly updated app based on the Biolayne team expertise for under $10 a month is mind blowing! My nutrition is dialed in based on my goals and I know maintaining my weight will be a breeze using Carbon. Similar apps may claim to do the same thing, but Carbon Diet Coach is in a class by itself! Keep up the great work Team Carbon!!! 💪🏽💯

    I think it’s great in terms of a digital coach but these are some ways I think it could improve. 1. I wish you had the option to turn the circle that tracks your macros, into a bar graph. Personally I would prefer that and feel like it would be easier to just look at how many macros I have left & have consumed. 2. Since it calls itself a digital coaching app, I think it would be beneficial to include motivating texts or message reminders. Or even educational messages

    Love the app and the automatic calorie/macro adjustments. My only complaint was that I wish it had a way to track alcohol calories as a macro.

    This app is great. Macros provided are on point, and the ability to customize them as needed is also great. The UI is clean and very easy to use. I do wish there was the ability to sync a WiFi scale or apple health for daily weigh ins. I also wish I could easily see the average macros for the current week. You can see the values under your info but it would be nice to see it on the main tracking screen.

    The app’s coaching function really sets it apart from other food trackers, and the support is great. You can ask them questions about your data and the recommendations that the app gives you. However, it has some drawbacks. The first one is, you have to be compliant to the recommended macros/calories for the coach to make a change. That can be frustrating if, say, your goal is to lose weight and you’re eating less than the recommended calories already, so non-compliant, but you’re maintaining or gaining weight. The app won’t be changing its recommendations since you’ve been non-compliant. The second is, there will be an adjustment period if you suddenly gain and lose some water weight. For example, when I went on a diet break, I gained 3 lbs immediately, and when I lost it on my first week back on the diet, the app thought I lost too much and asked me to increase my calories. And I had to, because as mentioned above, I had to be complaint or it wouldn’t take the data into consideration. That said, there are always ways to work with support around the issues. If you are willing to put in the effort, the app is a great guide for your goals.

    Aside from my camera and the Bible app, I am hard pressed to think of anything on my phone that has had a more significant impact on my life than Carbon. There just isn’t anything else like it. I’ve used Carbon for just over 9 months now, and in that time I spent 5 months losing the easiest 25 pounds I’ve ever lost followed by a month at my maintenance calories. The last 3 months have been using the reverse diet setting to slowly increase calories over time, improving the amount of food I can eat without gaining weight. The expertise is there and the science behind Carbon is clear. There are no sketchy marketing smoke and mirrors. If you can stay complaint to the coach’s macros for you (protein, carbs, and fat) each day, you will achieve your goal, period. If it seems intimidating, I assure you it’s easier than you think to use this app. If you need help, support has been outstanding the two times I’ve reached out to them with questions, and the three owners of the company conduct an open Q&A on social media every week. There are helpful instructional videos in the app, and a phenomenal (like actually helpful and encouraging) Facebook group of users of all ages and fitness levels who are there to help. I cannot recommend an app more highly. Carbon makes body composition changes just absolutely dead simple to understand and engineer. You will not be disappointed.

    This app is the BEST investment I have made in my health so far. I am a long time macro tracker, mostly on MFP. I pay for carbon because it is an actual coach and updates your macros depending on what you gain or lose. Recently set the app to lose 1.5 lbs per week and lost 3 lbs exactly in the 2 weeks! A couple things to keep in mind: Weighing yourself every day is helpful so you have an average.(If you have a high cal day right before check in and aren’t weighing yourself daily it may cause a false high) You have to actually stick to the calories and protein to be compliant. If you aren’t willing to do this, you don’t need to spend money on this. You must be compliant for it to work!! Spend 3-4 weeks at first at maintenance so the app can get your calories down and then go to reverse/gain/lose. Don’t try to game the app! If you’re paying for it, why not stick to it and trust the process?

    If you are tired of using apps that guess at what your calories should be and then leave you hanging to fend for yourself and figure the rest out, then this app is for you. It will give you an initial calorie and macro target based on questions you answer during initial setup. Then it will adjust calories and macros each week based on if you are reaching your goals or not. Didn’t lose weight even though you hit your macros? It will adjust your macros the next week, finding your sweet spot for your true calorie deficit. Want to just maintain your weight? It will figure out your true maintenance calories and keep you there as long as you are hitting your macros. Want to gain weight? There’s a feature for that too. Best app for the price, much cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. Get it now. It will change your life.
