As you can see in the previous review, I’ve loved Centr for about three/four years. Now, I’m not sure that I’d recommend it, and I’m not renewing. Ever since the buyout, the whole “vibe” changed. What before felt like a close-knit community is now your standard corporate weight loss app. The really cool and inventive recipes have slowed (although the old ones are still some of my favorite meals). The workouts, as many others have noted, now almost all require equipment. The passion, love, and commitment just don’t feel like they’re there. And the payoff you’d expect from the corporatization (smoother app experience, easier navigation, iPad integration, more personalized attention, broader topics, no connectivity issues, helpful emails, etc) is also weirdly absent. It’s been lose-lose since July. It probably should be a two star, but the old content is still there (even if it’s hard to find) so it gets bumped up one. Previous review: I downloaded Centr to abuse the free week trial because I was thinking about going vegetarian, realized I had no idea what any vegetarian recipes that were not carb-heavy were, and thought I’d grab their basic platform, steal a few recipes, and get out of dodge. Then the problem happened: it’s a freaking amazing app. The food is some of the best I’ve ever made: easy, not too expensive and quick. If you’ve ever wanted someone to tell you exactly what to eat and do to get fit, this is the app for you. Pair it with a grocery delivery service and you have something that kicks the pants off of Blue Apron. There are tons of great workouts. The meditations are soothing. The Facebook community is the bomb. And it works, I already lost some weight. I bought the year subscription (more than I’ve ever paid for an app), and I haven’t regretted it once. Give it a try; I bet you’ll end up in my situation.

Much better and cheaper than personal trainers, Centr has everything I'm looking for, I can feel the training on my muscles and sometimes need to avoid some exercises I can't complete, however the app is awesome almost 1 year with it and I'm so happy😊

This is the first app I have found that does so much more than awesome workouts. I am so enjoying following their plan, their instructors, the bonus programs like 30 day abs. I hate to miss a day. It is engaging, fun and challenging. Best app workout and food plan I have found. Major kudos to the team at Centr!

I’m on my second week of the Centr fitness transformation, I’ve dropped 7lbs already. Let me list what I love about this app. For starters they guide you through everything, and I literally mean everything. From what to get at the grocery store to working out this app holds back no punches. It’s nice that they teach you how to make your meals step by step, it makes the learning curve for learning how to cook a lot easier. I also love how they show you modifications for work outs. Being a beginner it’s hard for me to do certain workouts the way they are intended, the coaches understand this and will show you how to modify certain workouts. Finally I gotta give credit where credit is due, the coaches, they really encourage me to keep going even when I’m tired, they keep pushing me to finish the workout. I may feel tired in a moment but once that workout is over I feel amazing. I appreciate that there is beginner workouts for me so I don’t crash and burn in the first week. If you are thinking about trying Centr give it a go, they give out a free week of the services and I would highly recommend it!

I’ve recommended this to friends and colleagues as a great one stop location for workouts and meal planning. However over the past few months the platform is so unstable, you never know if something will work. I was halfway through a workout today, and the video went black and only the audio. Restarted completely and no luck, super frustrating as it could be a great product. This happens a lot. Cannot recommend until they get their content stable.
  • Wonderful Workout program, well worth the cost

This app is a wonderful nutrition and exercise program. I started it back in May, and though I’ve had to take some breaks, I’ve already noticed an improvement in my endurance and physical capabilities. The nutrition part offers a wide variety of meals, and even lets you filter by certain foods. My sister did this a year ago, and has dropped-and kept off-over 30 pounds. Highly recommend!

I have used a lot of workout apps claiming to help you get in shape, but this app has proven it. Body weight workouts are no joke. Worth every penny.
  • Highly recommend. I don’t use the gym anymore.

I love the variety of instructors and variety of exercises. I can choose what I want or take the suggested daily exercise. Great for those of us who get bored easily. And they are all so easily fit into my day since they are mostly about 30 minutes each. I have used the app for almost 5 years now. It fits so well into my outdoor sports when the weather is bad.

Got the app 3 years ago and loved it. Working out with Luke, Ralk and Bobby was terrific and I was in the best shape I had been in years. Changes that I wasn’t thrilled with was that some of the workouts seemed to be getting shorter. What was 35-40 minutes became 20 or so. Then I suffered a severe burn on my foot and stopped working out till it healed. When I went back to Centr it had major glitches. Workouts stopped between warm up, workout and cool down. Freezing or just not working seemed common. I used Centr in addition to running but the frequency of glitches peaked in August when the app would even open. The Centr sent an email of a free month and sadly that didn’t materialize either. So calculating the cost vs how much I had access I didn’t renew. Sadly I miss the workouts but I don’t miss the technical issues. May return if they work those things out. But a final thought seems to be a heavy reliance on equipment now. I travel and usually spaces are tight so Centr was perfect. Now it seems to be moving to more gym equipment focused workouts . I wonder if the archive of workouts from the early days of Centr are available. I would use them. I couldn’t find them when I looked but the app wasn’t working well either. Let me know.
