  • Where’s the “share” button?

This app has had it rough: from repeated logouts to inconsistent search results to HTML tags appearing as plain text. It’s come a long way, and it’s got a lot of spit and polish along its journey. Some hangnails are still there: pressing “back” takes you back to the top page of your search results (but at least remembers what page of results you were on), for example. But the most glaring absence of the app is that there’s no “share” button. I frequently discuss food with friends and family and the fact I can’t send a link to a Test Kitchen recipe or taste test is really frustrating. I routinely have to search for the exact same recipe I’m looking at on one of ATK’s websites just so I can hit the share button in Safari. “But Test Kitchen articles are members only!” you say? Yes but I’m sharing those links with other website subscribers—and even if I’m not, recipients of those links may be tempted to join. So the lack of a share button in the app is not just an inconvenience—it’s also potentially lost revenue.
  • Recipes never open

    By meggieUSA1
Every time I open up the app I can see recipes on the home page , but when I go to open them up I always receive an error.
  • Frustrating gateway to great content

    By Eeeeedjit
ATK seems to have more trouble with providing front-ends than any other content provider I’ve interacted with. Their content is top-notch but this app is actively painful. There’s more access to functionality by loading the site in Safari & since whenever I click on an email link it opens in Safari instead of the app, I’m not sure what value this app provides. I’m keeping it because it has nowhere to go but up, but then I’m a hopelessly glass-full person. Whoever ATK hired to build this app owes them a refund!
  • Good content BUT some features don’t work

    By 6DogsMore
Why don’t the recipes actually save to my favorites when I hit the “Save” button??? This app is squirrelly. A plethora of recipes and info but good luck trying to save anything so you can easily find it again. Would be nice if the features actually worked.
  • No recipes load = will never use app again

    By Dunnskiiiiiiis
I tried everything and this current version will NEVER let me access ANY recipes. Just take my advice and use their website. This app is completely useless in its current state. ATK please get your act together. I used this app religiously before this. Not happy
  • Will not open

Downloaded and try to open app....nothing, just a blank screen....
  • Improved, but glitchy

    By BananaSalads
America’s Test Kitchen has come a long way with their app. However, it has issues with the most basic functionality. Want to sort your search by popularity or by date published? The options are there, but it won’t change the sorting! You have to type slowly in the search box, seems to prioritize looking ahead instead of allowing you to type. There have been numerous times I’ll type in the search box and letters will be missing, typically at the end. The most recent update renders the entire app unusable. I open the app and it freezes. Where is the QA testing? Either the app isn’t tested thoroughly or it isn’t being tested at all.
  • Easy

Easy to use. Search is great.
  • Lots of bugs.

    By T_G_S
Please fix the bugs that won’t let me favorite any recipes. Every time I select the bookmark icon on a recipe or article it goes black and then back to light again as though I didn’t do anything, and the item I tried to save never shows up in my favorites. Pretty frustrating when trying to plan ahead.
  • Links do not work!

    By 530 Guy
Just spent a bunch of money on this site only find out how broken this app is. Nearly every link in this site gives me the “white page of death”. Then a notice that “SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED”. Restart the app. I’ve been a subscriber to Cooks Illustrated for a few years and finally decided to indulge in the full experience. Wow! Really disappointing. Really frustrating. I guess I’ll just use the website instead of the iPad app. Please fix this
