  • Changed the way I work

    By griffinb
This app really changed how I write. The ability to break long pieces down into their component parts is a life-changer. On of my favorite features is its ability to import my Word docs and (for the most part) make them instantly accessible Markdown docs. Like a lot of people, I am not crazy about the subscription model. But at this point, I feel like I get sufficient value to justify a yearly payment.
  • How I use it...

    By DrRunels
I start with Ulysses. Then I directlly upload it into web posts in wordpress. Then I use Grammarly and edit and tweak the links (Grammarly does not integrate with Ulysses and their editing software is ok but not as useful to me as Grammarly). Or, if i'm creating a word document or book, I start in Ulysses, then upload to Word, then use grammarly and my gray matter to edit. Starting a writing project in Word drops my IQ 50 points with frustration and button overload. For my purposes, Ulysses is where you start once you reach for your computer.
  • Easy to Use and Effective

    By Just short of luv
I like to think I am preparing to write a book, but it. hasn't happened. With Ulysses, it will happen when I finally pull the trigger. Love the ability to create categories I need - to add, change, etc.
  • complicated

    By BQueen (v1.15)
I am new to writing and find Ulysses difficult to navigate. All of a sudden it changed to a dark bakground with white writing and I don't know how to change it back:-/
  • Having trouble sharing to other than inbox

    By mas90guru ct
I'm not sure why but I haven't been able to share to any location other than inbox. Even if I ask to share to a custom group the only place text is saved is inbox.
  • Still ignorning critical bugs

    By gordonross
Wht is going on at Ulysses HQ? They keep adding silly cruft without giving users a way to turn off the options. The bug that won't let you turn off the 'Markup Bar' has been acknowledged, but still not fixed. Now they add another bug that won't let you turn off the new, distracting, redundant "Counter' feature. Clearly the company has lost their way and no longer cares about quality. So very sad to see.
  • Simply Elegant

    By Weston's Buddy
This is SUCH a powerful writing app—not only for long-form writing, but also for things like organizational lists and composing social media posts. The design is beautiful and the interface is very intuitive. Just wonderful.
  • I use it every day!

    By TheWhitePaperGuy
I can't think of a single thing I would change about this app. Great job!
  • Perfect for MacOS

    By ChillShepherd
Don't understand the yearly-subscription model (Several other promiment writing apps don't need a yearly subscription). Otherwise, nothing but praise for this app, but only if you're operating purely on MacOS.
  • No Thanks

Confusing to use. Theres no option to start a blank page, but shortcut commands that dont even work.
