  • Wish the app actually worked

I love British TV programs which is why I’m paying for a subscription to BritBox. I’ve had to delete and redownload this app so many times that I’m beginning to wonder if it’s worth it. The app is very buggy, it cuts out constantly, and just refuses to load way too often. I’m getting fed up.
  • Always errors.

I’m going to cancel my subscription because I can’t watch it due to errors all the time. It’s very annoying! 5 stars for content. 0 stars for errors.
  • Content Great, App Terrible

    By keaura
It’s a good thing that the content offered by BritBox is so fantastic, because using the app is a exercise in frustration. I’m watching a series. I am say watching season 4, episode 1. I don’t finish it. Instead of allowing me to resume, it starts on episode 2. So I use the Menu button to go “up” a level but it takes me to season 1. Then I can’t get back to season 4 so I have to restart the app. Eventually I get to where I want to go. Every other app just picks up where you stop. This is just so frustrating. The developers need to rework this and look at how other apps work.
  • New shows please.

I think I’m going to cancel due to lack of new programs.
  • Love the content. Tech needs help

The content is BritBox is great and so much better than alternatives. Unfortunately britbox has stopped working completely on my television. All of my other streaming apps work. I’ve done all the normal deleting and reinstalling but it’s essentially nonexistent streaming when I click on the BritBox. I even upgraded my router. Fortunately I can get BritBox on my laptop and phone but this is a huge gap in the service I am paying for. I hope they fix it soon.
  • Needs Picture in Picture

    By @RabbitRodney
I can’t believe in this day and age a streaming app doesn’t have Picture in Picture. There are many times where I want to have BB in the background while I do other stuff on my phone but I can’t.
  • Love Brit box

All I watch. Love all the Selections. Could add more more frequently and more seasons of the ones offered. Carol
  • Love it except…

I love the programming on Brit Bix! I am frustrated that every 3 or 4 times I use the app, I have to sign in all over again…that’s so annoying.
  • Content good, App horrible

TWO stars for content as many seasons not complete. ZERO stars for usability. Been using this a while and app is very user UNFRIENDLY. The developers need to take a page of use from Netflix for usability ease. Almost impossible to get Closed Captions (CC) without going through multiple steps, sometimes impossible to find (like Midsomer Murders). I’d simply like to see the title of the series, then see my most recent episode, kind of like Netflix. Instead I find multiple episodes pop up, some which have been seen, and no easy apparent way to “delete”. So we have multiple episodes lined up, most we have seen, and no way to get rid of them, easily. There should be a CC option in preferences for the app!!!! Easy and then you do not have to find this option for EVERY SINGLE EPISODE - tedious. So simply, the Series should come first, then select season, then episode, and the most recently watched or finished (maybe) next. This should appear as most recently watched. This would eliminate all the old ones from populating the first line of shows to resume or watch. I could go on, but it is sufficient to say I love many of the shows but as an American some shows need CC (like Shetland, which has heavy dialect accent). Plus if things are noisy CC is easier to keep up with. Plus sometimes the show just stops for no apparent reason this some bizarre error, then you have to tell it to resume and it starts right up again - bizarre. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER DEVELOPERS! This whole app needs a major rewrite, again look at Netflix, easy to use and makes sense. UPDATE, again: PLEASE fix CC so the app remembers!!!!! You can watch a show and go back the next day to watch and CC is gone, you have to go back and ask it to activate again. Very frustrating.
  • Enjoyable but cc is glitchy

    By Jknuss
Been a subscriber for a few years now to Britbox and Acorn. I enjoy both and find value in both. I am into the mysteries and comedy shows with the occasional history show throw in. I do wish there was more options or deeper trove of shows across UK, NZ, AUS and Canada. Especially options of shows from the late 90s early 00s. I have watched just about everything on both services except the soaps and the morning shows. I find the closed captions are quite glitchy. I have a hearing loss in one ear then add in some accents are difficult to understand to my American ear I can find it quite difficult to follow the story without the captions. Several times the wrong closed captions have appeared for the entire show in a series, the captions belonged to a different episode, they had been flipped. Other times it was clear that most of the dialogue was off script as the captions didn’t match at all what was on the screen. When I contacted them they said they couldn’t do anything about it. Which I find quite odd.
