I’ve used Daylio for almost a year now and I can say it’s definitely helped me through some of my toughest moments, through breakups, stress at school, and even the happy things (i use the notes feature excessively). It has been one of my go-tos whenever i need self-therapy and want to “talk to myself” while writing down my thoughts. It’s also played a big role in pushing aside my fear of forgetting my life HOWEVER the only reason why i didn’t give this 5 stars is because it would be AMAZING if the developers could add a feature where you get to keep multiple journals in the app. For example, there could be multiple tabs, one for emotional health, one for daily reflections, one for self-therapy, one for reflecting on how to improve. It would be best if users could create their own titles. Then users would be able to scroll through just the contents of that particular section without having to find it in the clump of information on the main page again, thank you for making this amazing app, and please take my suggestion into consideration🙏i think many users would benefit from this added feature that makes Daylio more like a bujo

I have depression and ocd. I have always loved journaling but never could figure out a system to track my moods and habits very well. But this app lets me do everything super easy and with the reminders so I don’t forget it is awesome. I have so much more insight on what part of my routine affects my day good or badly, and I love that I can track my goals with it! Definitely recommend this app for anyone! I’d rate it higher if I could tbh

this app is amazing but i do wish one thing was different i love everything but what i do wish is that the lock pin didn’t have to have premium it is you’re decision but i can’t pay for premium but i want privacy too. that’s my only complaint and honestly if that doesn’t change it will be fine. love this app. definitely recommend
  • Poor notification handling

Overall this app is fantastic I’ve been a daily user for 689 days now. During that time my only issue has been the app’s notifications. Getting a reminder to log your day is great, but it drives me nuts that if I tap into the app directly instead of tapping the notification my reminder doesn’t clear. This leads me to constantly think I’ve forgotten to log my day and clutters my notifications tray. I really wish the reminder notification would clear itself upon logging the day.

I realized writing down in a paper journal made me forget often. I’ve had a permanent subscription for almost 2 years and adore this app. I’ve used it everyday and the iPad app not being an iphone app stretched out has made me write even more than I used to. Absolutely recommend! My only request is to allow a “timeline” or “photobook” version of the journal where you can add photos and videos in each date. That or giving us the option to post multiple photos in each day and make videos an option to include!

I love the idea but as a person trying to track their emotions, I NEED this on the watch, the phone and iPad are a hassle to take out, on the moment recording requires on the body gear, please give us an Apple Watch compatibility!
  • Best in class🥇…But you did your OG users dirty

TL;DR: • former Android users beware ⚠️ • data driven insight capabilities years in the making distinguish their presence in this niche🏆 • maybe wine and dine me first before trying to force premium down my throat?🥰 TO DAYLIO DEV TEAM etc: I’ve been using Daylio premium since 2019. I signed up to be a beta tester. I evangelized the good news of Daylio to all my friends, and also on online mental health forums (I have ADHD & bipolar disorder). Even showed my psychiatrist + psychologist so they could share with other patients. Kicker is, that was on Android. I just migrated to iOS for the first time. Come to find out my premium status that I paid for and used for the past +2 years is essentially null and void because “reasons”. Like I get it. Your product is growing, structural changes to your revenue model need to be made. I understand that the original 1-time payment option has been discontinued. But geez, at least give your older users the options to transfer their accounts. It’s not like it’s taking anything away from your bottom line. Your old users are a finite number and migrations between Android and iOS will phase out over time. One would like to think you’d want to keep your brand champions?…… Thankfully I didn’t trade in my Android phone at the Apple store. I now keep it on my bedside — my wife calls it my “Daylio Device”. TO PROSPECTIVE USERS: That said, if you’re trying to take control of your mental health, Daylio is worth the investment if you can afford it. You simply cannot replicate the data-driven insights using pen and paper. The in-depth statistics will allow you to spot trends in your behaviors and any other external factors that might be at play. I won’t quote studies here, but there is an established positive correlation between mood journaling and maintaining long euthymic periods in your life. Daylio’s data-driven approach is relatively recent and has been refined regularly over the past year. Want to understand how one specific activity (good or bad) affects your mood? Your overall stability during X period of time? Daylio can do that and much more. TO DAYLIO SALES / MARKETING: Maybe be a bit more nuanced ? You’re leaders in the mood journaling space, you have First Mover Advantage — there’s no need to be aggressive in your approach to upsell users. Back in the day it was the user experience of the free app that convinced me (and many others) to happily pay for premium. The value of your app spoke for itself. Now you have a name and reputation to further propel it. Instead? I download the app and the first thing that greets me is a money grab. No onboarding process or customer journey to value-realization. Instead what you have here is an advertisement that comes with an app built in. Your messaging just comes across a bit disingenuous and a tad obnoxious. CONCLUSION: Sorry for the scathing review but it had to be said. As someone who feels (felt?) genuinely invested in seeing the growth of this platform, and has (had?) high expectations (thanks to the high standards you’ve set in the quality of your build), I felt obligated to say it straight. Like a disappointed parent.

I’ve been using daylio for 882 days straight as a journal, and it’s easily the only app that has ever been this helpful in tracking my daily activities. the last 2+ years have been full of helpful updates, and i give big props to the developers for implementing all the new ideas people have had! there are only 2 things i’ve found that would make this app even more useful to longtime users. when exporting data into a excel or PDF, it doesn’t export the pictures - it would be fantastic if there could be some way to add the photos along with the rest of the data. secondly, i was recently disappointed to note there wasn’t an apple watch feature - even just being able to quickly tap moods and activities on the watch would make sure that users don’t forget a day (as that often happens when preoccupied). either way, daylio is the best purchase i’ve ever made!! the analytics feature is so comprehensive, and the fact that you can search keywords to go back and look on past dates is awesome!!! please keep it up guys, you’re doing great!!

i can honestly say i LOVE daylio. i’ve been using it for roughly two years now and i have no complaints. you can create your own categories, hobbies that correlate to YOUR life, etc. i love that there is no character limit & you’re allowed to submit photos as well. when you add so many days in a row, you begin a “streak” and that is motivating in itself to keep going. definitely recommend to anyone looking for the best journal app! <3
