Wife saw this on a YouTube channel and I was looking to start keto at the time so I tried the free version for a week and liked it that I upgraded to gold for a month to test it out. My workouts stopped syncing and some of the macros for the food were off or not in there. I think if they can build a more robust database and fix the sync issue I may start using it again. Some of the breakdowns are pretty good but can be a bit much at time. The potential for this app is there.
  • UPDATE - FIXED! (Ads Ruined the App)

The developers responded to say this issue was a bug. I am so happy to be able to use Chronometer again! Truly the best tracking app available! (Previous review: used the free version of the app for a long time. It’s changed so that every time I want to log a single food I have to sit through a one-minute ad for some horrible game app. Thanks so much for ruining the free version and rendering it unusable. Have no problem with seeing ads in the margin or maybe a 10-second ad but what used to take 10 minutes to log a day’s food now takes half an hour. Time to find another app.)
  • Easy to use app (IMO better than MFP)

Over solid app. Super easy to use. Gives a lot of relevant information. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because of the multi-select feature. Definitely has to be reworked. You should be able to delete a food or exercise without having to hit multi select and then go back to hit delete at the top of the screen drop down.
  • Better than MyFitnessPal (Maybe. EDITED)

EDIT 5/25/23: Coming off a free gold month for my birthday. I’ve noticed way less ads recently (after gold ran out). Re-raised my rating to 4. EDIT 4/18/23: Ads now activate AFTER you tap the screen to type in your food. Ads seem more common than before as well. I dropped the rating from 4 to 3 stars due to these changes. The pop up ads might drive me back to MFP TBH, which is disappointing, as this app has helped my health a lot. I swapped to Cronometer after MyFitnessPal started charging to scan foods (and MorePlatesMoreDates recommended this app). The interface was confusing at first, but seems more customizable nutrition-wise once you learn. There have been a few foods that were missing from the database (or inaccurate), and pop-up ads are annoying (though not super common) when trying to input foods. Despite these issues, I still prefer Cronometer over MFP due to being able to track micronutrients way easier, more customizability, ease of use, and not charging $$$ to scan foods in.
  • So Easy, So Accurate, So Free

I’ve lost ten pounds and counting by looking up foods in Cronometer and entering the amount (a food scale helps but not required). While you’re at it read “Bigger, Leaner, Stronger” or “Thinner, Leaner, Stronger” by Michael Matthews.
  • Latest update has constant ads

5-24-2023: Added a star because the ad problem seems to be resolved! Have learned tons about nutrients in the food I eat. Curious how the data collected is used/sold. Have recommended to friends and would have rated higher before the constant ads since the latest update.

I was very into this tracker to start, but then, an update happened. I enter one food item, there’s an ad. Enter the next item, there’s an ad. I’m entering supplements and food, ad, ad, and more ads. Thanks, but no thanks.
  • Full-screen ad after every food entry

I heard great things about this app but it is so slow to enter foods and the full-screen ads are so obnoxious that it’s not worth it for me to continue.
