I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this app & It's actually a daily routine for my partner and I to learn new words. My only recommendation is to please add a text-to-speech or a pronunciation example. Such as, apple would be (ah-puhl). I know It's a small thing but I think for many people like myself who don't know English or even Latin as their first language, this would be extremely beneficial. Thank you :) - Srividhya

I love this app/ it’s beautifully designed, aesthetically pleasing, is exposing me to relevant words I want to remember, & allows you to favorite words to come back to. I have been using the app two days and have two issues, which may be user error— I hope so! I am open to feedback! My issues are as follows: 1) every time I open the app, the music I am streaming thru my phone stops. WHY?! A couple of times I have gotten my music to continue to play while I use the app- but it is inconsistent and I can’t figure out what I do to get that to work, and it plays on low volume like background music. Most of the time the music just stops playing and will not play when I am in the app. That is a major issue for me. I want to be able to listen to my music (#1 priority) AND learn new words- at the same time. The two should not be mutually exclusive and frankly this is a deal breaker for me with this app. I have played around with the sound, turned off the “theme sound” and turned the “words playing sound” off - that does not work either. Why does a vocab app take over sound from my phone? It’s nonsensical… 2) the search feature is buried and it appears that it only searches thru words that have been shown rather than all words in the English dictionary. I would love for this to be my one-stop shop for vocabulary, and not have to go to dictionary.com to look-up a word. Hopefully I am missing something…

  • Vocabulary app not really expanding my vocab

I used to have a vocab app that I loved and it has since disappeared. So I got this one, plunked down the $20 to subscribe and have it on the advanced setting. I would think at that price and level I wouldn’t be getting the word “ominous” as word of the day! That’s the word that finally made me say I’m giving this app a review. I do see it says ages 4+ so it could be a good app for children, or people who are learning English as a second language. I don’t consider myself well-read and at least 70% of these words are not new or interesting to me.

The easiest, most fluid app for non- obnoxious reminders, straightforward app settings and GREAT new words to learn. The pronunciation option is perfect.
  • Splendid but

It offers plenty for free. It’d be nice to be able to get some different themes now and then for free. I know you have to make money (hey, I would gladly watch an ad or a few for them), so it’s not that big of a deal.
  • Nice.

This is my new favorite app! I love the widget, and how you can customize it in so many different ways. Two thumbs up. So far I have known the words, but I expect it to get harder as we move along.
