  • The best app - great features coming soon

There’s a few things I really like about this app. - Really easy scanning, with options so you don’t need to type anything manually. Highly intuitive. Not perfect but close. - Best UI I’ve seen in this kind of app. Very pleasant to look at. - Very easy to use print and bulk export options. - One low monthly ($1.5) or yearly ($10) payment gives me access to all the recipes across ALL my devices; most apps charge separately, and while CB might be a tiny bit more expensive in the long run, I won’t be out for a larger lump sum of money if I need to replace my device, want to use a different one, etc. A lot of the features that I feel are missing have already been suggested by other users and are coming soon, hence why I decided to give this app a 5 star rating. BUT personally I’d like to see the following sooner rather than later: -rich text support, as well as font size selection (very important for long or tricky recipes) -recipe cross-referencing (e.g. a sandwich recipe will automatically cross-reference the recipe for the bread it requires) -ingredients substitution and quantity variance support (so that it changes accordingly when scaling the recipe) -quick toggle between recipes -some drag-and-drop options -“pantry management” options to keep track of ingredients easily -Siri/Alexa options so that I don’t have to manipulate the device while handling ingredients. Just getting it to scroll or change pages is enough. -A “family and friends” feature for recipe sharing and quick importing of individual recipes would be lovely.

I’ve been living in recipe book chaos for several years now and have been looking for a solution. The cookbook app is the EXACT answer I was looking for! It is outstanding. I love this app so much. If you are like me and have a binder of accomplished family or other recipes this is the app for you! It brings all of those recipes of the tips of your fingers so you always have them with you. Thank so you much cookbook team!
  • Functional regression with otherwise decent design changes

While the new changes to the app look nice, they've made it much harder to enter recipes. It used to be super easy to use the OCR feature and fly through adding all my favorite recipes from a given book. The ease of entering and maintaining recipes from books was really the primary reason I used this app. It seems unlikely that I will continue to use it with these new changes.
  • My favorite app!!

I’ve used this app for quite some time and it’s, by far, my favorite app!! I used to hate cooking - we always ate out a lot - but with COVID I found myself being forced to cook more. This app makes it so easy to import recipes. I love having everything all in one place. The app syncs beautifully between my iPhone and iPad (and can be used on my desktop, as well). It’s so easy to import recipes and makes meal planning so easy. I LOVE how I can copy a link and import it to my cook book app. I no longer have to wade though a long blog post just to get to the recipe. A simple copy and paste and bam! It’s in my app. No more bookmarking tons of recipes - they’re all right here in my app. In addition, I can add tons of tags which makes it easy to search for whatever I’m looking for. Breakfast, lunch, snacks. Low carb, less than 100 cal - whatever I want, I can create and add a tag for. I cook most nights, but on the days I work (I’m a RN and work 12 hour shifts), my husband takes over and it’s so easy for him to pull up a recipe and prepare dinner for the family. I’d rate this app more than 5 stars if I could. Aside from apps that include mindless scrolling (social media apps, etc) this is the app I use most often. ❤️
  • Love this app.

I have never been so excited about an app before. All my recipes are in one place 👏. Copying and transferring recipes is a breeze. I copied a recipe from a magazine while waiting at my dentist's office. I will love it even more if it offers something like the featured recipe of the day. It still gets five stars. I have a question: do the lifetime subscription has limited content?
  • Almost perfect

I have been a long time user of this app and I absolutely love it. My ONLY complaint is my additional grocery items I add do not sync across devices. I usually make my weekly recipe and grocery list on my iPad, but have to add my additional items in my iPhone, I don’t want to bring my iPad to the grocery store. Fix that or tell me how to get it to sync and then this would be a 10 star app.
  • Best App!

I searched for an app like this for awhile before finding this one, only downloading ones with a free trial so I could test them out before committing. This one blew me away from the start! This app is all Pros no Cons!! If you are someone who has tried to keep a handwritten cookbook or index card recipe cards in a box or even a folder with a collection of recipes….this app will be a game changer. I have told everyone I know about it. HUGE Thank You to the creators of this app!!!
  • Great app

I love this app, I tell everybody about it. One minor nitpick, it’s very annoying that when you schedule a recipe it defaults to one serving rather than how many servings are in the recipe as written. If you’re not thinking you’ll end up buying or adding the wrong amount of ingredients. It’s most likely that the user wants to make the recipe as written, so that should be the default.
  • Theft!

I paid to own this app outright precisely to avoid getting sucked into a money pit: years of investments in a niche personal tool that does one little thing. Now I’m being told that I will be unable to continue using the app going forward, except in read-only mode after one year of “free” subscription. The problem is twofold: (1) I relied on the nature of an outright purchase and have not been in a hurry to digitize recipes, so I have very little content to date. So I will basically have gifted the developers my money for a loan rather than a purchase. SaaS is a loan. No thank you. (2) The app, if I do rush to fill it with content now, will be useless for the very reason I bought it in the first place: data consolidation. The last thing I want is recipes spread across different apps. Should I never add another app to my personal catalog again? Or should I waste my time and homescreen space switching between catalogs? Both are terrible options. This is, frankly, fraud and theft. I paid for X and you are taking it away and replacing it with Y. I do not consent. Why not just grandfather legacy users into lifetime plans?

This is a great app. Soon, I will buy the full 40$ version. But, please please PLEASE add this app to the AppStore for MACBOOK. That way I can cook while looking at my laptop, instead of from my phone. Thank you developers!
