  • Great App for Beginners

    Fitbod is a great app for people who just begun their fitness journey. Everything is very intuitive and easy to navigate. The workout instructions are easy to understand. My only gripe with the app is that compare to the other fitness app, there are limitation regarding to the exercise. I need Fitbod to add more exercises like unilateral exercises with dumbbells and cables to help those who have muscle imbalance. Other than that I love this app.

  • Not great for advanced lifters

    I used fitbod for a full year. It just isn’t great for advanced lifters or if you are lifting for building hypertrophy or strength. It’s fine for beginners or for the occasional lifter. If you have been lifting for over 3 years or so, I would not recommend this app. I would recommend programs like Mind Pump or Jeff Nippard.
  • Incorrect caloric estimation

    When tracking treadmill with incline or other aerobic with resistance, incline and resistance is not taken into account. It's far off what shown on the machine even when not entering weight into the machine.
  • What happened?

    This app used to be great and with recent updates or something the workouts are just trash. I’m trying to build muscle mass and the algorithm is suggesting 10 sets of 7 pushups like where are the bench presses and traditional squats. I have to manually go and adjust the exercises or remove stupid things.

    The only complaint I have is the setting of my available equipment often changes without prompt. It suggests using equipment I did not add to my checklist.
  • needs small tweaks

    decided to blindly follow its recommendations. it gave me chest, triceps, and lower back on day 1, then it gave me shoulders, back, biceps, and lower back on day 2. this is an issue since it's recommending back to back push days. mind you, it gave me incline bench on day 1, and then standing barbell shoulder press on day 2, which are almost identical exercises. it's set to work recovered muscles, yet, each day it's telling me to work muscles that are at 0% recovery. anyway, i got legs on day 3, and arms on day 4. for the second week, i'm just going to tell it which muscle groups are recovered. i'm going to click for chest on day 1, legs on day 2, shoulders on day 3, back on day 4, and just remove any muscle groups it's recommending that aren't recovered. besides its tendency to give you exercises for fatigued muscles, it's a really good app. i was going to the gym with no real direction, since i'm an advanced lifter with not much i can learn. glad i now have something to give me things to do, and switches it up for me. the videos are pretty good, but i did notice on the cable crunch video, the lady was doing it wrong and moving her hips. they should also fix it so that we can open our apple watch without the timer closing on the phone.
